Diving Solo - Discussion

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
There are other sports that are similar to freediving in sense of solo practice, I'm talking about rock climbing here. Soloing (no rope, no partner) in rock climbing is at least as dangerous as diving solo, any mistake results in certain death. However, I know a lot of people who climb solo and I do that myself. I believe there are two critical moments common to all potentially dangerous sports when they are practiced solo:
1) Make sure you know what you're doing.
2) Make sure that you want it.
With 1 and 2 in place - just go for it. Still, diving or climbing with a buddy is more fun!

Solo one has to be very coservative to be safe so less fun but still fun.A short dive can be fun too.

I go alone 99.9% of the time. Life just works that way. I have a copy of my advance directive and my prepaid funeral card in my purse and my will is in a known location. If I should become a "floater," then my bases are covered. But, speaking of floats... I always use one and just "try" to be sensible. I know it "can" happen so I have prepared. Same thing as getting in your car one day and SLAMMO! Be prepared and you can blink out with a smile on your face :)

Same here. I would actually prefer death while freediving if given options. But i do try to get buddies when ever i can. Bc I haven't written my will and stuff like that yet :v
