Having a prob with the shaft line tangling around the rubber shock absorber/bungee, when firing at distance the line knots up around the bungee that is attached to the speargun then the line thus missing good fish at distance. my weapon is a cressi pneumatic SL 70 STAR.
Lee i had this problem on my beauchat 75 when i first had it; i played with the tension of the spear-line bungy/shock absorber (made it tighter) and that seemed to sort it out. i've changed the line a few times since and it hasnt recurred.
Also maybe just check that theres no significant twisting in the line.
Me and Dad will be going there either Wed/Thurs early evening if you are back in the country be good to catch up with you again.
Cheers
Ryan
Just got back from Portland Harbour next to Newtons Cove, The cove was unfishable but inside the harbour was about 2 meters vis and just about doable.
Lots of wrasse everywhere some to 5lb. saw one bass in the shallows of around the 6lb mark but shot passed me at 100mph. Did manage 2 mullet both around 3lb; they where the only 2 I saw.

Can anyone help resolve this prob?

Welcome back Gaz.
Winter is on the way now chap’s, we nipped in to O Three after the dive to pick up a few bits and the guy in there said that he’d had a spearo come in with a large black can, after telling the bloke that he was sorry but they don’t sell fuel the spearo explained that it wasn’t for fuel but wondered if he could fill it up with hot water so he could flush his suit through before he got into it.
Made the guy from O Three smile, anybody from on here?
bbbbbuuuuurrrrrrr winter.
Managed a couple of flounder from portland harbour today, both around 1 1/2 lb. No mullet seen and saw just 1 bass of a good size; I'd guess around the 7lb mark. vis was around 3 meters.
Feet went numb after about 3 hours, so got out.
Having issues with my Cressi SL70 star Just replaced the line release trigger that snapped, now the safety catch has snapped. Already replaced the shaft as it shot of into oblivion the first time I shot it and on my 3rd tip as I keep hitting rocks.
Yeah, me - and it was for AFTER the dive, before I got out of my suit (great idea I got from Paul Smith - although I often drive home and get out of the suit in the shower, in the winter).

Nice one Gaz, did you get anything? We ended up with a Golden Grey, and a medium size Bass.
Could have had a whole heap of small yachts if I’d had the bigger gun with me.head
I received this email as a circular from the River Cottage website. Should be of interest to people like us. Can anyone suggest the best place to post this on the forums for the most coverage (other than here)?:
Dear friend of River Cottage . . .
It's not often that I abuse the privilege of knowing your email address. And I promise I won’t do it again lightly. But I really need your help with our Fish Fight campaign which we are launching today. If you are at all interested in the future of our oceans, and the future of fish as food, then please go to www.fishfight.net and check out phase 1 of the campaign.
If you are unable to sign up due to high volumes of traffic to the site, please do try again.

I had a golden grey, and the 2 lads who were with me had a couple of mullet each, if memory serves. One of them encountered the biggest bass he'd seen all season, but didn't manage to bag it.
