I had a tender at Langton herring for 8 years, it was locked to a 4 foot steel rod driven into the ground with a chain attached. One day I found that the chain was cut, my b oat was gone,,and to top it off, someone else's tender was locked to my chain instead..no sign of my boat!
On Langton: I used to rod and line fish here. I know the exact location of an inshore wreck; partly exposed at low tide. The wreck holds large numbers of unusual and good size fish. I fancy hitting this spot on low slack water on a neap. The wreck is spread out in pieces over a 100 yrd area. I have another tender and a yak! does anyone fancy a dive here sometime? give me a shout.

If anyone is interested, will be looking to go to Durleston tomorrow evening. Be there for 6 ish & entering as soon as changed.
Durleston was good last night, but watch out for a gill net about 50-75m from the shore line. Fairly easy to spot. You should be able to avoid if you swim out to the front of the support gabbions as I did last night. I didn't even notice it until I came back in.
It may have been collected by now though.

I ended up popping down to lulworth cove to see if it was abit sheltered....it wasnt haha. I was in the water for about 15 mins and couldnt see the end of the spear. I fancy trying somewhere this weekend but im not sure how the vis would be due to the wind

Park on Belle Vue Road & go through the gate to the left of the flats Purbeck Heights. Follow down to some iron railings & go through & follow down, bit of a treck on the way up back mind you. Climb down a 2m ledge(its easy) & get in where ever.
Looking to get down there between 9-10. I'll send you a PM.

How was the vis in Durlstone today? I am thinking of going there tomorrow.
Vis was really good. Was on a drift to Peverill point and as I walked back along the cliff top it was really clear and "Med" like.
Had a grand morning with the phantom fluffchucker and almostafish, early one for me with an 8.00 meet although probably a late start for John. Got in just about at high water will good vis in close but turning milky the further out I went with maybe a couple of meters on the flatfish ground.
Nothing to out of the ordinary to report other than a couple of nice flatfish for me, John went out on a tangent and came back with a Bass and Bryn being Bryn disappeared out in to the wild blue coming back with enough to feed the five thousand.:friday:friday
Great to catch up with the pair of you and next time I’ll make sure I’ve got enough time for the customary coffee and cake afterwards.

Went for an early morning dip at Kimmeridge today and was shocked to find a barrier now blocking access to the car park. So anyone going there out of hours factor in an extra walk as you will have to park in the village.
Apart from that it was a great trip, the vis was patchy but not too bad, came back with a Bass and a Pollack my first ever Pollack. Saw lots, shoals of Pollack, Mackeral and Mullet a few Bass. Fantastic morning too.

I did the Dredger yesterday and had to brush the girt great pollock out of the way to see the other fun stuff. No teethy things reported or seen.

is the barrier at the shed you have to pay at to get down there or actually just blocking access to the grass car park? Could you still park up by the toilet block near the slip way?
Nice little session at sunset yesterday evening in one of the few spots around here that is sheltered from the SW wind. Limited viz but saw a few fish - one very large mullet which shot across my view in about a foot of water just as I lowered myself in, several schoolie bass, and one decent size bass which is now in my fridge. Got out a little while after sunset thanks to my torch!
Have cooked quite a few fish on the bbq recently, and found the technique I like the best is to wrap the whole fish in a few sheets of wet newspaper and then cook directly on a really hot bbq grill for about 10 minutes on each side. The paper then peels away taking the skin with it and leaving beautifully cooked moist smoky flesh. Lovely.

Nice one mister lizard. I loved bbq fish. Not speared but i caught a 6lb smoothound about a month ago at sandbanks which i pulled out ofthe freezer thursday. My girlfriend beer battered it and fry it up and it was damn tasty. I would recommend it!
Parked up at kimmeridge last night and went out under the tower. Vis was slightly better but very cloudy. Didnt see much as the tide had only just started turning at i got in. Missed a sizable pollock and saw a nice mullet zoom past me in the murk but i couldnt get my gun around in time!

Down at Lulworth this evening. Vis was pretty naff unless close to the rocks. Managed my first (well second counting the golden grey that come off the stringer) mullet tonight!!
I literally just got in the water, loaded the gun and swan no more than 20yrds from the shore when i saw the mullet swimming infront and to the right and i shot straight away and had him. I was dead chuffed and was close enough to take it back to my kit bag on the beach. No falling off the stringer today! The shot was a bit far back but not to worry!
Other than that i only saw one small bass and a huuuggggeee wrasse. Tried a few dives tonight and my breath holding is getting a bit better but i still struggle to make my ears pop!
The mullet weighed just over 2lb and will be going on the bbq tomorrow
