Good effort Ryan,

Got in just before high tide inside the harbour and took a bass just under 3lb. Plenty of pollock and mullet about but left these alone as I was hoping for another Bass alass I got cold before I saw anymore.

Bumped into spearolee and had a little chat. Nice to meet you Lee not sure if you could understand me with my teeth chattering together.

Portland harbour seems to be holding the bass wonder whether they'll still be about for my christmas dive

So, hypothetically speaking then:

If Nobby and I had entered our fine bass into the November FOM, who would have got it, me or Nobby seems as they were both 6lb?? both the same length, however Nobby's has more girth around the head.

I must add that mine had a lovely bronzed flank, powerful tail, fantastic bone structure and a great smile, whereas Nobby's was the big head of the two

always a chance mate! i am only in my first season and have nailed some great fish ,hit big depth with big breathholds. good luck with the entry tho. would b nice 2 win with the time you have had out the water!

Went in just before sunrise this morning with Steve (sorry, can't remember your forum name). Tried a couple of spots in the harbour but very little viz - just past the end of the spear at best, so no fish for us. That's a first this year! I think I've dived at least 50 times this year and this is the first time I've come back without a fish so I don't feel too bad about it.

Might try on Wednesday morning if this bloody wind calms down a bit. Only 1 bass left in the freezer now (along with several pollack and flounder) so need to get in soon before it's too late...

anyway, it was my final day for working at othree today as i have moved job, i decided to make myself a nice new 7mm jacket as it is getting a bit colder now. i love it!! othree have made 2 consept spearo suits.( both mine) mainly because i made them. let us know wot you guys think. cheers
