i heard about a tuna at work today of simalar size but was told by rod . i was joking with my mate saying what if. now that has been answered. truly amazing catch!! welldone brett.

I dont know what you lot are all getting excited about, ive got 4 of them canned in my cupboard 
Today is a special day. . . a day when everything changes. . . a day when nothing can ever be the same again.
None of us will be able to get in the water again without that little thought in the back of our minds 'I wonder if this dive I'll see one, after all it's happened once before, so why not?'
So I'll raise my bottle of Skinners Hellegan Honey and drink a toast to Brett, the man who changed the face British spearfishing forever.

Hi all,
haven't reported much activity lately, however I have managed a few dives here and there taking home a few nice bass up to 7lb, cuttlefish, pollock and the odd lobster.
Desperate to try my new RA1100 I made my way down to Portland to roundevous with my dive buddy, thinking it would be nice to land me one of these lovely Tuna's everyone is so hyped about....... Dropped in at Portland Bill and made my way out to a ledge previously scouted by myself and a couple of others, at which I had spotted a couple of Guilthead bream on my last visit, one of my target speacies for 2010 http://forums.deeperblue.com/uk-ireland/85879-whats-your-dream-fish-catch-2010-season.html.
After settling in with a good few warm up dives I started to drop in off the ledge at around 15m and began see a few small bass on the edge of viz. Dying test my aim I held tight and bingo 3 Guiltheads came into view......click!
Needles to say I'm made up with my first Guilthead Bream not a monster by their standards but still a tidy catch. Finished up with one Guilthead and two bass, happy days!
Saw a few tuna but left them for another day
