I ordered the D06 and it arrived the other week from uk bright ideas on ebay. came with all the bits needed in a nice box. Not tested it out yet properly in the water yet because of the rubbish weather but have put it to good use out lamping in the evenings!

Thanks for your input. There appears to be only one UK seller of this torch on ebay at the moment and am unsure if they do the full kit with charger etc.. - have sent an email to the seller.

There are other sellers, check link below to torchdirect:

Xtar D06 LED Diving Torch Kit

Although slightly more pricey, but you can get your name engraved from this one.

I can't believe there aren't any more D06 packs on eBay in the UK. Just tried a search.

Anyway try the link above for a full torch & case.

Just to let you all know the water around weymouth looks pretty good today. It was flat calm across chesil and the harbour, and a Facebook page that shows a daily pic of chesil, showed clear water. Coupled with the spring tides it could be quite fishy. Good luck up anyone who goes out

I went out straight from work today. Went down to all of my favourite local spots (between Lyme and Burton Bradstock) and found nothing better than around 0.5 - 1m viz, not brown but more of an uninviting grey colour.
Ah well, early next week it is then...

Ah right. I thought it was meant to be clear (according to my sources). I stand corrected. Sorry for the bad info guys

I don't doubt that you're dead right Matt - the water around Chesil Cove looks lovely and clear, but last time I dived there I had a really boring dive when I only saw 2 smallish bass over 2 hours so I wasn't that keen to get back in there!

Yea it's not the greatest for a night dive. There are spots further along chesil either side that hold good fish. My mate had 3 bass on a night dive the biggest being roughly 7lb. But for night dives there are better places

Hi Jaca, as it happens we have amazingly calm weather in Guernsey & an even better forecast tomorrow with 4mph winds, the sea is like a mill pond!
Only 13.9c in the water though,

It may be worth of going to guernsey then... Thx :)

Are there any Dorset/Somerset/Devon spearos and freedivers who would like to get together once a week/fortnight to hire a lane of a swimming pool (or even the whole pool if it's affordable) somewhere in the Yeovil/Crewkerne/Dorchester area?

I used to join in with a scuba club in Bury St. Edmunds when I lived near Ipswich, and they allowed me and a buddy to do dynamics at the side of the pool. Within quite a short time I had increased my breath-hold time to 4:10, and my dynamic pb to nearly 100m. I'd love to do this kind of training again, particularly in the winter.

I'd be happy to do the phoning-around of swimming pools and the organising, but I'd need to know that there would a big enough group to make it feasible.

250m no fins? That's more than the world record!

Thanks for the heads-up on the session though, I'll see what I can do about getting a session together closer to home, but if not then I may well come along to Portland. Can I just show up or do I need to book?

I used to play Octopush in Ipswich. I thought I had a pretty good breath-hold, and then I tried Octopush! It must be one of the toughest sports there is in terms of stamina.

Sorry mate my bad ! Pool is only 25m a length aint it? If so 150m no fins. No mate just turn up. Its scuba night

Cool,,,,i can do dynamic 25m no fins on two breathholds. Lol

Static apnea of 3 mins..

Max dive depth of 5m...looking to up this to 6m. So gunna be training hard this winter.

Hopefuly I'll get to use my tender and outboard to get out off the arms.

You guys can do the bill without me....mr porbeagle.......coming back for matt, still reckon he was a loan hungry agressive white shark:eek::eek:

Whats all this swimming pool talk? My training grounds are the old flooded quarries..im lucky enough to live within half a mile of one, but there are several other unknown ones that i dive too.

Some have depths to 30m, the one on my doorstep is about 15m max but good enough in the depths of winter with ice on top. I do it at night too...

For me this is the best kind of training, facing the elements that you would face out spearing. The rest is stamina, its all about stamina for me; gets the fish. 2 hours every morning for me and fighting 3 times a week on the evenings. Ha ha im gunna out swim that damn shark, whilst you guys are busy 20 m down bursting blood vessles; I'll be long gone....you guys shark bait...lol ;)

Some spearos love to catch pike, don't expect you'd get a warm welcome from any course fishermen!

As Nobby said ill be doing octopush and pool sessions plus a lot of tables and cardio work at the gym to prepare for a deep diving season next year. Then if I'm unlucky enough to bump into mr porbeagle again I will feel more comfortable wrestling with it under water ha ha

On a serious note how many hours do you have to spend underwater to grow gills??? Obviously not in one breath hold (not yet anyway) lol

Why dont spear mr porbeagle when it attacks you again??? In self defence of course. That would be a trophy!!!
