Mmmm interesting although I think possibly bull poop?! Spoke to Bryn yesterday, he was in around there the weekend and nothing of that size, I know a chap who fished the beach over the weekend too so will see what he says. In other times I would say Keith would be a likely suspect but he was elsewhere, only other person I can think would be Clive or Mike, Clive didn't dive and I would of heard from him if it was Mike I reckon, be excited to hear more though!

Just spoke to a chap from work who fished the cove all weekend with nothing other than mackerel pollack and pout and he saw and heard nothing, mmmm am desperate to know now!

Brother was in the tackle shop earlier and said he saw a weight sheet for the two bass, 12 and 15 pound so must be true
That's good to hear, shuts my suspicious mouth at least! I wonder who it was, any name attached... Some one make with the pictures! Great to hear of fish like that still around even though part of me is a little sad they won't grow any bigger, not that I am saying I would of let a bass that size pass of course.. Congrats to the spearo who achieved it 
Do you know which tackle shop? As my old man is involve with the one on Portland road (chesil tackle and bait I think) and he said it's reports at the moment, with no official weights. He spoke to his mate who was going fishing at chesil cove as two spearos came back with a bass around 12lb and the biggest one he has seen which he believes to be over 15lb. He has been bass fishing for many years so is credible.
Not meaning to question you Or your brother, I apologise if it's come across that way. I'm just curious that's all.

Well I reckon it must be local lads not on here or we would of heard although I'm surprised I have not heard who yet! What I can be about 80% certain on though is where they were speared I only know one spot round there holding multiple fish that size, well done who ever you are, now someone get me their descriptions lol
Think it was the tackle shop in wyke, mite of only been a report then, only spoke to him briefly and he said he seen it on a sheet i jus assumed he meant a weight sheet. Anyone know if theres any vis east side of portland mite give it a go ina bit?
finally got a dive in at dancing ledge on sun, vis was pretty good for the most part, saw 2 decent size bass within the first 30 seconds of being in the water, gun wasnt even loaded, was confident it was going to be good, but turns out i couldnt find anything else but wrasse to look at! im sure there down there though. spent an hour searching for lobbies but the missus was getting impatient on the rocks waiting so had to call it a day. will be back to suss it out properly one day soon!!

apparently Customs and immigration have put out an appeal to find a local man from the Plymouth area who was last seen crossing the border in to Dorset wearing a pair of Guy Cotten oilskins and an Elios wetsuit? Rumour has it, his passport has expired and the donkey he rode up on had no legs. Instead it had fins and it was a distinctive colour of brown/gold
Members of the public have been warned not to approach the man if he is spotted. but instead to call the harbour master from Sutton harbour who will come at once and return him to his native county.

Had a nice solo dive last night at a local spot for a few hours. managed to pull off a shot that most would could spawny but id like to think otherwise and managed 2 bass around 2.5-3lb mark with one shot. All in all got out feeling quite chuffed 
I think I've recently had a bit of luck... nice and big place cought at shell bay near Poole and cuttlefish at Studland

Well,,,,,,hit one of my usual haunts after being nagged by my little brother to take him spearing at night.
Long story short as I'm tired as hell!
FANTASTIC night!!! with PB bass a jumbo mullet and a nice fat lobster.
The Biggest bass was 8lb 7oz and 70cm, biggest mullet was 5lb3oz, lobster was 3.5lb, flounder was 1lb 3oz the other bass and mullet where around 2lb each.
I hit the bass in 2ft of water 1 meter from shore as I was getting out. He was facing me and only 4 ft away, so I pushed myself backwards to get some distance to take a shot, he then swam at me and between my legs, luckily I had just rigged up a little 50cm banded gun, so managed to turn and nail through the head and out through the gill plate. It went ballistic! and took my float for a 50 yard ride with fish attached. Lost my float for almost 20 mins, then found it on a reef, dove down and there he was!!!
