I have been there and been the only diver. However, I have also been there and seen maybe a dozen spearos & 2 or 3 dozen scuba divers, and dozens of anglers over a period of hours; too crowded for me really. Quite deep straight off too. When the wind is out of the east though, the beach is often sheltered. I haven't seen anyone land anything of size there (I'm sure others have) but I have seen a small lobster & a few small fish taken. I recall somebody mentioning they got a crab there too. I've only seen small fish there and occasionally a shoal of mackeral. Is it just me or does no one seem to ever dive Chesil beach?
Been there for my first ever diving in Britain,it was last april and the dive last just ten minutes, the sea was nice and flat hot and sunny day 2 fisherman with the kayak one on the shore but the viz was crap, coudnt see the and of my gun.But I didnt giveupI have been there and been the only diver. Sounds like a good dive guys but what type of flatties did you catch?

All flounder, a couple of them had orange spots but pretty pale orange in colour.
