Great fish Lee. Surely worthy of a smile??
Hi All,
I am heading to Portland this weekend, I have mainly fished in the Harbour on my previous visits! (was more of a swim and dive! than fishing) this time I was thinking to explore the Church Ope Cove, it looks interesting on google map!)
Have you got any advice for that area, is it a difficult area, depth, currents?
Thanks a lot
Marco
Good dive last night, with vis up to 8 meters; which was a very welcome change.
This allowed us to hunt deeper water and caves resulting in a very mixed bag for me: flounder, plaice, sole, pollack, garfish, bass, bream and mullet on the stringer!
Best fish of the night for me were a 2lb 9oz sole (smaller than a estimated) and a nice 6lb 1oz bass (bigger than estimated).
The bass was in 6 meters spitted from the surface cruising a reef. I took the torch off it and took a dive down a few meters in front of it, sat tight and kept the fish just on the edge if the beam......waited....waited....waited..... then it cruised past at the end if my gun range; boom he's on!!!! Alan had a great little picture show from above in the amzing vis!!!!
Pics to follow
All fish taken using picasso gear.
