Got in at Southbourne this morning. Viz was generally 2 to 3m+. Managed two plaice (a third got off the spear). Saw school bass chasing bait fish which I was amongst. Also saw a large jelly fish at least 2 feet across its body. It was on its own, seemed off course.
Also saw a baby undulate ray.
Managed a few deeper dives over the foul ground here. Lots of discarded shells. I will have my fish finder rigged soon so I know exactly what depths I am diving up to (probably about 14m on these springs).

In guernsey for a week and just got out after a quick dive so thought you might like a read on my home thread...
Bass festival is on this week, but at my chosen beach not an angler in sight so got in. Pretty hefty waves breaking against the wall but great viz.
Immediately saw an enormous mullet but let him pass as I wanted bass for the BBQ. Swam on a bit and got a lovely bass. Another couple of minutes and a huge monster bass loomed up. Biggest bass I've ever seen; a double would be an exaggeration but it must've been a good 8 or 9lb. Lined up a shaky shot and skimmed its dorsal fin, aargh! Watched it swim away, wiped the tear from my eye and swam on. Another minute or two and another nice bass comes along so I have that one. Another few minutes and a schoolie swims up so I left it to grow and got out.
Back to the campsite with 2 lovely bass (weighed in at 5lb 3oz and 4lb 6oz) after only 20 mins in the water. Result!

Sounds like a lovely time mate. I'm desperate to get wet again (especially now that I have a GoPro) but I'm stuck inside at my desk every minute I'm not at work, busily revising for my exams to work in Australia....got a job starting in January so I had better pass!!!!
I didn't weigh it! 
. But it wasn't as big as my PB if 12lb 3oz, and bigger than my usual run of the mill 7-8lbers.
I could easily fit my fist into its mouth (I have large hands) I reckon an educated guess of 9-10lb would be pretty accurate.
I didn't weigh it as I was on hols and thus needed to fillet it and get it in the cool box ready for the next days BBQ. It would have been absolutely crinimal to wastesuch a magnificent creature just fir the sake of weighing it.
Cooked it in bbq, sea salt chillies and lemon juice wrapped in foil; nice and simple but delicious

Took the chain ferry over to Studland beach this afternoon for a walk with my wife and dog. Looking down from a stationary ferry on the Sandbanks side the viz looked 3m+ Could see lots of baitfish - there was also a man very close to the wall down there snorkeling... although the tide was running in at a good rate, there seemed to be a slack area of water close to the ferry.
From the water's edge it looked like the viz was ok over at Studland Beach. I wish to have a snorkel over there one day to see the infamous sea horses in the reeds along that stretch.
I think the viz is better in the western end of Poole Bay at the moment.... here at Southbourne (eastern side) the viz doesn't look so good here; didn't get in so can't say for sure - observed from a rock groyne.
Fishfinder/VHF/GPS/Torch console nearly ready for my guardian float so hope to find out again soon.

Vis was ok for a while at Worth on Friday evening! My friend managed to bag himself a fairly large bass though didn't get to weigh it! annoyingly we share a gun so its always sods law we see the fish whilst the other has hold of the gun though going to buy a new one at the end of the month. Hopefully hit Portland next week see if we can catch some more
The vis was about 3m+ when the tide was out which was really nice! though the timing was bad and it didn't last long before the tide started to come in.
Yeah I have found that when I have been down there, so il have to look up the tide times next time I go as I do really like it down there! only problem is the walk back up to the car park!
That's some walk back to the car park. Unfortunately many of the Purbeck marks involve a hard walk - I am trying to lighten my kit/make things as comfortable as I can.
I have just upgraded the straps on Beuchat Guardian float to a backpack type system designed to help portage white water kayaks up steep mountain paths. I haven't tested it out on the trail yet but hope to take it over to the Purbecks soon. Feels very comfortable when trying it on at home though.
At Southbourne, unless I fish here over the double high, there is often a walk involved back home - these straps should help with that also.
