Kuya went that way last night for a look parked on road by golf course n walked to the end of h head by ferry over to muddyford.great eve sun setting past the beach huts i went on holiday in 39 years ago!....ah god makes me feel old..walked back on beach water was cristle clear round end between grions and across the end towards headland can you get the noddy train kitted up ?jogged back going dark.looked the best ive seen round here so far. wind had picked up on southborn side and surf.back again in a few weeks for a couple of weeks .try n get out again.

Really nice swim this morning. Went in and swam across Studland bay to Old Harry rocks. Very good vis 6-8m in places, water was a millpond when i got in. Heaps of life in the sea grasses though only took one bass. Never seen so many wrasse - they were almost queuing up! Sadly no sight of the seahorses...
The vis around the groyne was amazing, crystal clear lots of baitfish and wrasse to look at. A bit further away from the groyne the vis was more cloudy but still fishable. Today made such a change from the monotonous sandy seabed of Southbourne.
I have never taken the Noddy train but presume you can go on there kitted up.. I think dogs are allowed on there, plus they have an open trailer on the back for things like push chairs and beach equipment.
The wind does tend to pick up here often between mid morning until early evening (or sometime in between). Happened to me today, 10 minutes after I got out white horses!.. it can still be fishable though.
I think the better time to fish Hengistbury area is slack water high and on the ebb (on a neap tide).. on the flood the current can move fast pushing you east and you don't get much time to forage particularly over Beerpan Rocks area.... it's still early days for me - will take a while to really get to know this venue - it could be that the bass and mullet are more likely to be there on the flood.
Underwater foraging book was there when I got back today. One of the feisty crabs was a velvet swimmer and the book mentions they are very aggressive. If I can get one onto open ground I will try and use a crab hook to coax it into a crab bag.

Ha now I've got the alcohol fuelled lads holiday out of my system, it's time to concentrate on spearfishing again. So I'm hoping to get a few hours in the water. Maybe re-acquaint myself with mr porby.
Well done on the fish and swim tho mate, that's a good effort.
Went in at Durlstone Bay yesterday. Fantastic dive, not because of the catch but because of the 6m+ vis and the amount of life about, Saw a mackerel shoal chasing Sandeels. Saw Garfish, Bass chasing Sandeels and loads of Wrasse and Pollack. Took some Pollack and a Bass.
Went in at 12noon and got out at 3.15 from just after low tide.
Thought it would be good at night so went in again at 9pm on an ebbing tide but only saw one Bass, though I picked up a lobster.
Of the two torch's I had, one was flat and the other ran low quite quickly. I swear the kids had been playing with them

Went in again yesterday afternoon, good vis. Took a mullet and a bass both bang on 4lb. Hope the wind stays down today it was quite choppy makes things harder when your trying to relax and water keeps going down the snorkel !
Hi all, sorry I don't post much, but don't get in the water as much as I'd like. I'm planning to get in first thing tomorrow morning, thinking either Ringstead or Swanage. Where would anyone recommend, or shall I head somewhere else? Thanks in advance for any help. 
Watch out for the porbeagle shark that's working thst area at the moment.

Bagged another decent mullet this afternoon, loads of blood coming out of it was a bit worried about that shark !!! Missed a shot on a Garfish - no Bass spotted today. Pretty rough again, I hope tomorrow might be a bit calmer with the northerly wind.
Yes absolutely serious! Last year matt (scubaru) had his left testical mangled by a 12foot porby! He ate a 50 pence piece and he's ok now.

I know that the land slide at durdledoor killed the vus it that area....but has it effected as far as mupe bay and Kimmeridge area?????
Does anyone have any vis reports for east off lulworth, but not as far as swanage.
