Congratulations Milkman, who needs sleep anyway. That bass mobile isn't a secret Flasher project by any chance? Best wishes to the family....We've decided to call her 'Ella'. :inlove I've already started constructing her a bass mobile...my wife had a difficult labour...
Hi everybody.
Also I have got a question for you guys ,I have been suffering ear trouble for a while and a doctor has diagnosed surfers ear, some kind of exostosis of the ear drum.I wear ear plugs now.So the question is : do you always equalise when you descend or you skip it sometimes if in a rush ?,if you equalise when do you do it while you are descending or when you are at the bottom?.
Hubsby,no experience at all at dancing ledge.
the only ear plugs I know of which can be used for diving with at all are 'Docs Pro Plugs'
Interesting. Never heard of equalising at the surface -- presumably you are not equalising but opening up the eustachean tube and/or pre-pressurizing the inside of the ear (the latter strikes me as potentially dangerous but the former sounds like a good idea if that's how it works)....Re. equalising - I don't know how anyone can dive without it - for me at least it is just too painful. But the best tip I ever had on this subject is simply to equalise on the surface before you dive - rather than waiting for the need at 1-2 meters. This has overcome a lot of problems I had at the time...
X - you are right - not equalising technically - just going through the motions on the surface - however for me this does mean advance pressurisation via Valsalva - not found this to be a problem in my case and has actually reduced problems I was getting with inner ear barotrauma which left me having to climb up a pebble beach on my hands and knees - couldn't stand up.
Can you imagine that - a fully grown man (well I'm not growing any more anyway) in camoflage rubber wetsuit carrying a speargun crawling up a busy beach in the summer - I'm sure I barely looked humanrofl
