Well - what a weekend! Three dives in three days and my ears are telling me that's enough! Good to see Big Willi down from Derby, we have shared some diving in beautiful weather with some great company. Thank you Mr Podge 'Pugwash' Rogers for the lift (s) and, as ever, the best of company with Glowjob, Flyflicker (briefly), Surry Jim and Silent Steve. Guess what? We even caught a few fish and shellfish! Cheers chaps.

First off a BIG, BIG thank you to Ben for the use of his truck, Thanks Ben.
The spearing was more than fair with a few fish seen and a few fish speared, the weather was spot on with very little wind and plenty of sunshine and the company was as ever great.
Thanks to the Pikey for the BBQ on Sunday, and for the wishbone on Monday.
Spot on Gents and see you next weekend.

Thanks to all of you guys for a great day on Monday. I am learning all of the time. Have booked trampoline lessons to develop my back flip and bomb. Reckon that if I can't shoot bass I will be able to stun them! Cheers Steve.
A great day out on Sunday with great company,Ben,Big Willy,Steve and of course chunky.
The weather was great but the vis wasn't too special and although i did see some bass they were all schoolies.Lots of sandeels about of all sizes which were amazing to see along with the shoals of small pollock.
Got a scare being pushed along the bottom at a rate of knots in 12 meters which meant that i went bck in shallow.
Cramp finally got the better of me which ended the day with fish seen but none captured by myself.
My back flip and running bomb are coming on a treat though.

Went for a swim in the harbour with Tonyiannu and also met Fishfox. It was nice to have some company and pick up a few more helpfull tips, THANKS GUYS !
The dive was ok, a bit windy and choppy in the harbour with viz 4-5m. Tony took a small bass just as we got in and also some crabs. I got a nice size squid that weighed in at 3.1lb Are they quite common in portland harbour? I never thought the first thing I'll shoot with my speargun would be a squid. I'll attach a foto as soon as i figure out how...

There are no squid (or cuttlefish) in the Hall of Fame. A 3lb-er would be a good entry. Put up a picture.

Brett - Ships in the mist indeed! Sorry dude, it was a nightmare with lack of reception and lack of organistion, plus I had a whole heap of people in tow. Ended up going in at Perranporth which was nice but not as good as it would have been at Penhale. Hope you got some good-uns.
Well done everyone on the weekend fish. I got in at Talland Bay on the Sat am and had a plaice (stuffed full of sandeel the greedy b*gger!) and then locally with PaulSmith (at Chris' *cough, cough* secret spot) and had a mullet. Nothing worth photographing but nice dives nonetheless.
Am away again this weekend, but hope you all bag up with some more fishies! Rick

Yeah Kev Uses a RA carbon rail guns, 75, 90, 100 depending on viz. I got a RA 70 rail gun (not carbon though, I seem to break them getting out of the water in huge swells - like at Portland with Paul yesterday!) the RA is a nice bit of kit.
Ask Paul about my excit from the water yeaterday......doh!
yeh, I was so bizzy laffin at Clive hangin off of a ledge as the swell dropped away underneath him I forgot that it was gonna come back up and crash my newly repaired fins into the rock beside him:head- and thats why I dont have carbon fins!

We should have liased! I was in literally just around the corner from you on the Rame Penninsular - Talland would have been a short drive for me (or I could have shown you some less well known spots in the area that are supposed to be hoofing for bass). Nevermind, maybe next time.
