Hey all. The f.10v3 is in on my wrist. Changes are not radical - more processing power and easier to program - no pressing two buttons at once. Also a nice 'back' function so you don't have to go all the way through the menus to get back home. A few other things as well - basically the programming part is more like the f.11 - and Wet Activation is now an option:

F10 Version 3
> The following is a list of changes made to version 3 of the F10
>
> Operating Logic
> The Two-Button press has been eliminated and replaced with Single-Button press menu navigation. This allows the user to navigate the menu easier and adds consistency throughout operation.
>
> Step Back
> The “Step Back” ability was added so in the event the wrong option was saved, it is no longer necessary to advance through every menu option just to get back. By holding the Select button operation will revert to the previously selected option or screen.
>
> Wet Activation
> By adding the wet activation option, the unit will now enter Dive Mode upon sensing depth in Watch Mode, when set to ON.
>
> Backlight Glow During Alarms
> The Backlight will automatically activate when an alarm is triggered during the dive. It will remain on for the duration of the alarm or until acknowledged by the diver.
>
> Auto Countdown Timer
> When the CDT is set for auto, after it has reached 0:00 and the alarm has been triggered, it will reset the count and start timer again.
>
> Log
> After viewing the last screen in the Log Data sequence, the Log preview will display. This gives users the opportunity to view multiple logs consecutively without the hassle of re-entering the Log Menu.
>
> Default Time
> The Default Time option has been added to the Time Menu. Default Time gives the user the ability to change what time is displayed on the Main Watch screen (Main Time or Alternate Time). The Default Time selected is always recorded to the profile during the dive, and the log after the dive.
>
> Dual Time
> The Dual Time feature is now available and provides the option of viewing both Main Time and Alternate Time on the same screen.
>
> Time
> Changing the Time will always effect whichever option has been selected as the Default Time (Main or Alternate).

Sounds great, finally a good D3 replacement WITH Auto Countdown Timer. Great for doing tables I think!

How much does the F10 weight in grams? - cannot find that in the manual or on the internet :( - I love the featherweight D3..

Hi Kars, You know; I used to always wonder why I got you and Trux confused... I'm getting 75g. The unit is externally identical to the f.10 v1 and v2.

LOL for me that's a compliment!

75g, sounds great to me! My old, nearly dead D3 weights about 55g, so now I hope the price is right and no bugs appear :)

I see. Too bad. The improvements, especially the history browsing, would be great on my watch.

The thing I like best about these watches - the v2 and v3 - is how well they record underwater laps when the activation depth is set to 2 feet. I was thinking the times had to be off a little but we shot some video and they were pretty much spot on.

I think the original intention was to do a firmware flash - but they found that some of the changes needed a different processor.

Moreover processors improved a lot and got cheaper as well. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same processor as in the F11.
Still it would be nice to have an update with improvements that don't need another processor.

Damn...just bought the V2 last week before seeing this article. I'm really happy with it but scrolling through the dive history sounds better on V3. I begrudge paying €100 for a USB cable to get them on to the PC...anybody know if you could diy the cable, sounds like it could be the same interface for the V3 if its externally identical to the other F10's?

Right - same interface.

Thanks Fondueset, are they available any cheaper or can be made at home....€100 is very expensive for a cable or are there some electronics involved as well?

Is F10V3 already available for purchase? I can't seem to find any reference of it (not even on Aeris website).

Full specifications not available yet, but this watch might also be interesting for freedivers (expected release: June 2014):

Hope the new F10v3 will be available before that.

Interesting, and more details, such as price point, sample rate, pc computer interface, weight, size, user replaceable battery?, maximum operating depth, activation depth, stopwatch, countdown? How does it compare to D4i,D3, F10, F11?

Wish I knew. I couldn't find any more info.

Fondueat,
Can you please explain about the F10v3 auto repeating countdown timer? Will we be able to use it for CO2/O2 tables?

One use the repeating countdown timer for things like 16-50m dynamic.
