Speaking of flatfish..
Here is a sneak preview of a bit of the wood being water blessed by Zeus.

Paduk is the red colored wood. Pierocarpus.

Mango the curly blond. Mangifera.

Australian Lace. the lace brown. Cardwellian sublimis.

More close ups Tues eve, I ran out of light.....so I need to go to the pub for a Pint.:friday

Those are the 3 Fox...braking out the hand plane.

This years and next will come from the same pieces of wood.

The award will have two sides...one of glory ....one of reflection, but both serving a purpose.

But what about the pub? ...and least not forget the wood shop... sweet smell of fresh coffee and planed teak, but never finer then the sweet wisp of perfume of the young green eyed lass that brings you a whiskey and listens to your big fish story's. Here man is king and old age forgotten. :friday

Only three entries, great fish though but no one seems interested in winning a brand new South African design gun for catching a mullet!!!

I have to confess to voting for jonnys plaice as not only is it a fantastic fish but also because I know the effort he put into catching it.

I voted for it too and it seems to be doing well so far.
I had a look at the gun and it looks the business. Heavy spear for such a short gun but maybe stopping power is whats needed for mullet. If I see/catch a decent mullet I'll certainly enter it. I like mullet big because there's so much that needs to be trimmed off the fillets if you remove all the lateral stripe.
On the subject of Johnny's plaice, I notice you've put it in the Hall of Fame (and quite rightly too). Are you opening the Hall of Fame again Mart or will the Mods maybe choose fish they think are worthy, as on Medfish?

I made am effort to see if I could operate the HOF by putting up jonnys plaice but I could not quite get it right!

I couldn't work out how to get the regional page to display in the same way as OMD had done it & I dont want to mess up any more of his work!

I would love to see the HOF back up & running but apart from lacking the technical stills I simply don't have the spare time (I am very busy on db).

We recently put out an appeal for potential new staff, I was really hoping we could find someone interested in taking over the HOF????

It is such a shame as there are lots of updates waiting in line.....

It's great to finally win a fom, and for me im especially pleased as I've been on a flatfish mission all year and they have been few and far between.
