I second that foxfish.

Jonny's Gilthead is a fantastic fish, not only for its relative rarity value, but when compared to cod it is also a higher percentage of both the Britsish and Deeper Blue records. If I cld vote for it, I wld. That said, will have to vote on the eligible fish and the cod was also a great fish ( would luv to catch either) Cheers mike

I do agree but sorry jonny it would b my mate bassanovas gilt that would hav my vote. 8.8lb gilthead british record set this year and posted on dorset thread. That is by far the best fish caught this season to be posted. Shame he never entered it to fom. But jonny u hav set me a goal to beat my gilts i got this year. Truly amzing fish ! I can onyly guess how excited u was after me nailing mine.and the feeling i got. Thanks to the guys who hav voted for my gilt in the foy.

Agreed gregs gilthead was an amazing fish, especially being shore caught aswel. He really should have entered it Into FOM, as that would take a really special fish to beat. I personally think out of all the foy valid entries nobbys cuttlefish was the most special as I've neve heard of one that size being caught. But I'm sure with the other entries the competition will be close. Well done to all

Its a shame he didnt enter the fom; any idea why not? it would have had my vote. Nobby's Gilty had it instead tho :)

Congratulations and much respect on your winning catch ,I still do not understand how you find so many superb fish and manage to shoot them, you must have quite an appetite for seafood as well !!! Trophy will be on its way soon . I would wish you luck for next year but I do not think you need it (and it is not LUCK anyway) .....

Hi Nick,

Can seem to work out how to PM you,

can you drop me a mail at

anthony @ venturesports.co.uk

cheers,

anthony

Hi Anthony,

Email sent.

Mirror the cod was luck. I never expected to see a cod where i was diving and speaking to older spearos, they said they dont know of any being taken around the area. Not only that i had a small barbed spear using on a small gun i use for flatties and triggers. Very lucky.
I dont buy much in the way of meat. I love eating fish along with most of the family. You cant beat fresh fish.

A huge THANK YOU!!! To anthony at Venturesports, neil at ApneaJersey and of course to our very own wood maestro Terry Mirror, for your support of the Deeperblue fish of the month competitions and fish of the year competition. Terry your trophies have been so much appreciated and they really have added to the whole 'feel' of the competition and the excitement of winning.

We have a bit of time before march brings the next wave of fom's, and we have already thrown around a few ideas for the format, could just stay the same, or switch to mainly speccie orientated? Seems most people who have replied prefer speccie hunt format?

What do y'all wanna do???
