Probably heading S Devon way Friday night after a tip off from an old friend when I lived in that neck of the woods.

We are facing a big swell, strong winds and so no vis and probably no diving for about a week! There a few species on the list which I have never seen in Jersey waters, but you never know! I have never seen a cod over here, but I have seen one caught, so they must be around. YHad a fleeting glance or two of gilthead, but never had one. Yesterday, had a bass, black bream, gold spot and a thick lip , but nothing spectacular mullet wise and defibitely hope to catch bigger . Plan to try for a flounder when conditions improve. Very rarely find them, but am seeking guidance from a loacl shore fishing expert. Apparently I need to swim in max 2ft and nil vis!

Congratulations to Shiny1 for winning the May FOM with that superb Pollack!!! i was surprised that JerseyMike's Plaice didnt get a few more votes as its a rare fish in CI waters, but there you go. Nonetheless that pollack was a real clonker and respect to Nick for putting it on his stringer!!!

A Big Thank You To Mirror for the impressive well made Trophy.
It came a couple of weeks ago in the post,since then i have been waiting to post a pic of it along with a nice fish. I havent had any time to dive until yesterday when i had a 9lb bass in poor vis.
Thanks to Apnea for the £25 Voucher to be spent at the Apnea online store.

OK folks, the July FOM entry page is up now [i'm getting ahead of myself!]: Looking forward to seeing some mad, epic, bbq-tastic spearo catch reports this month...

Please note the rule 2 in the FOM entry page: you need to include the date clearly in the photo with the paper. Thats the rule, so in the interest of fairness, in future entries will only be accepted if they do have the date clearly shown, thanks [that applies to the speccie hunt too].

I'm away with work and holidays next month, so may not be able to conclude the June FOM poll and sort the prizes straight away. Please accept my apologies if nothing happens for a while after the poll closes! Well done to all the entries!!!
