First 2008 Spearo BBQ

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Chaps the first Dorset 2008 Spearo BBQ will be held over the weekend of 24th
& 25th May 2008.Venue to be confirmed but one thing is for sure if the weather allows we will be diving in the morning with the BBQ in the afternoon / evening.

Please register your intrest so we can get an idea of numbers.
 
Well mate you can put me down for-

One whole Bass
A couple of Lobster Claws
One 24oz rare T-bone steak
Some of that South African Sausage (the spicy stuff)
A bucket of mixed salad
And one or maybe two cold beers.

That south african sausage podge is generally referred to as boerewors. (farmers sausage). Makes me wonder about farmers sometimes.... :inlove

Wish I could join you guys, as between Tit-bits and farmer's sausages it sounds like its going to be a great evening

Hi John, hopeless at making tea but could rustle up some goodies in the kitchen quite easily. Wish i could be there, especially to watch podge eating all those things on his list, including the TiT-bits rofl

Only joking on the list me dear my meal will consist of a light green salad and a bottle of mineral water!

Podge... we both know the list was relatively accurate.
Obviously I could only manage a light salad with healthy dressing and maybe a small side order of 24oz steak and chips.
 
If you want it hot -- my tit-bits will be just right

recipe:
Chicken Wings

16 Wings (skinned) can be thighs, legs etc.
Small carton plain yoghurt
Tablespoon oil
1 medium shredded onion (use a grater)
4 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon crushed cumin seed
2 green chillies, chopped (add extra for more fun!)
good bunch of chopped coriander
1 teaspoon turmeric

Mix ingredients in a bowl and add chicken. Leave to marinate over night.

Roast until slightly charred.

Serve with green salad and chapattis or naan

If this is the weekend of the 2nd May bank holiday then i am definitely up for it as it's a date to be remembered! Dust off the boat and get ready for a spearathon, yee-ha!

Please could you indicate if you will be attending so we can get an idea of numbers.This will help determine a location as well.
 
Reference to post 2 of this thread, but leave out the salad as I’m on a diet.
Nice one John and if you need a hand with anything let me know (so I can be busy elsewhere)
