First 2008 Spearo BBQ

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
There was a nice bit grazing on the Dorchester to Weymouth road the other day, that was until a tanker hit it at 60. Managed to get some on my windscreen, already minced.. nice

I have an old BBQ that I can bring along; a 4lb bass will fit nicely on there!!!

I can't imagine you will get away with sleeping at the bottom of Old Castle Road, the sailing Club have desires for that beach and have plenty of signs up! Might be OK in a van..?

The Nothe is good, there is only one very battered fixed BBQ there and parking may be a problem if good weather.

How about parking at the sailing academy and using that piece of scrub land on the left or even the corner beach, boats can be beached close by and the catches unloaded - just an idea to be tossed around with the salad!!

I might know for a bit of venison :) if anybody wants it for the bbq let me know a week or so before hand and I’ll see what I can do.:martial
If you want selected cuts then you’ll pay for it but there’s always a deal on a whole carcass if you can butcher it yourselves.

What are the chances of Sunday or Saturday instead of the Monday? I'll have a lot of travelling to do on the Mon eve, and presumably alot of guys will have to work the next day?

I’d be up for a change to the Sunday as it’ll mean no drive back for me and the chance of a few drinks is always pleasant.:friday
BBQ mid afternoon maybe a night dive if still sober enough.
All sounds good to me.:)

OK chaps some decisions have been made.

The BBQ will be held on SUNDAY 25th May next to Portland Castle Car Park in the large area there. We will meet at 3.00pm and start the BBQ's going then. Can some people bring a disposable BBQ with them and i will take 2 aswell. Can everybody chip in some food and drink to spread the costs about.Post here what you intend to bring so we don't end up with too much of the same stuff.

This is weather dependant and i'm sure we will try to fit in a dive or 2 first.

This is open to everybody so see you there:friday:friday

We will also be presenting Flyflicker with his April FOM Trophy
