Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

Shame there was no March FOM (eh John?!). Mind you, Old Man Dave would need to become FSC certified with all that timber he has to keep exporting to Dorset!

Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

I did keep one FOM for myself last year :).

First year FOM's were mahogany and last year's were beech. This years going to be sicamore.

FOY's were mahogany and chesnut. Not sure about this year. See what I can find.

FOM's were round then oval and this year I think diamond shaped. FOY's are always going to be shield shaped.

Dave

Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

Just back from a few days hol's and as I guessed some fishy catching action has occured. Excellent entries (3 so far). Don't want to prejudice it but ... cracking lobster.

Dave.

Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

Dave the sea's over here are teaming with massive lobsters, I often have to move lobbies twice that size just to get down to the cuttlefish :)

Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

Scott I'm suprised you went for the flounder over the cuttle? Hope you don't regret it like when sunfish chose his bass over his pollack one month :vangry.

Good luck whatever. Great job on organising the FOM and to have 2 entries in the first month as well!! You da man :).

Dave.

Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

It's a good lobster but there seems to have been a run of good lobsters from the south coast recently. I think my mullet is a pretty good specimen of it's type. Second biggest ever in the DB hall of fame.
I hate to echo OMD on this but I think your cuttlefish was a great example of cuttlekind too. Better than your flounder!!!!!:confused::confused:.
I'd have voted for it but I'm going for the mullet now.

Re: Fish of the month discussion thread 2010

I spent so long finding the flounder mate I just felt it would be the right choice, that and the fact that im mad about them :)
