OMD, you have excelled yourself with this trophy!! It was waiting for me when I got home from work today.
Looks awesome nestled between its two smaller siblings!!
Thanks again and can’t wait for the gun to arrive now!

Congrets, tecdave, That is a fine fish. I'm jonesing for some good fish n chips
and a Guinness right about now. Cheers.
All the best, Don Paul

Good fish Dave.
OMD, Why does the shield just say "DB FOY UK" instead of "DB FOY UK & Ireland" since we had great Irish entries in the FOM of 2009?
Thanks
Regards and Stay Safe

We had some good entries from the Channel Islands as well and they are not part of the UK either. However "DB FOM UK, Ireland & the Channel Islands" definitely wont fit on the trophy.

Dave.

Good one OMD.
Don't get me wrong, I was just curious.
Good job.

Pardon my ignorance but as the Channel Isles are not part of the UK but they are part of the British Isles, what about Ireland? Technically is Ireland part of the British Isles? What is the relationship of Northern and Southern Ireland. Is Southern Ireland still independant and called Eire ?

No offence and just interested as we Channel Islanders are a bit ignorantly insular :).

Dave.

I can clear this up Dave: Scotland, Wales, the whole of Ireland and the Channel Islands, are all owned by England!

Thankyou, goodnight!

Well OMD,
The Republic of Ireland (EIRE(or as you say "Southern Ireland")) is still independant and the North of Ireland should belong to the Republic since is the same island.
(A little bit of facts)When the European community was formed all countries had to hand over all Colonies.
England with their arrogance, never gave up of Falklands, Gibraltar or Northern Ireland, why ??

But that's politics and this forum isn't about that.

Take care
Stay Safe OMD

Before Gaz starts world war three; 'British Isles' is a geographic term, which includes England, Scotland, Wales, the whole of Ireland, The Isle of man and the Channel Isles. In Southern Ireland the term is not used, 'These islands' or 'Britain and Ireland' are used instead.

Regards'
Dave.

As the current FOM is the only one on DB maybe I should drop the UK bit and just call it the DeeperBlue FOM. However although we have discussed opening it up world wild the FOM is currently only open to entries from the UK, Channel Islands and Ireland.

Dave.

I don't know what you might call it but Southern Ireland is not a part of the United Kingdom and they won't thank you for saying it is .
Glad it's your problem Dave, good luck, huge trophies or microdots maybe?

Regards,
Dave.

Hi Guys,
Well after a lot of help from Spaghetti I am finally the proud owner of an awesome omer 82cm gun!!
I think it has been the most travelled speargun in history!! I know it's been to the Ukraine on one of its many postal journeys but where else who Knows!!
Thank you again Spaghetti for sorting all the delivery problems and a huge thank you for your generosity of this prize.
Will try and get out in the next few weeks once the water gets a bit warmer, it was 8 deg last weekend in South Wales and I only saw some Coalfish and tiny Pollack.
Hope everyone has a good season and good luck in the FOM 2010.
Dave

It's about f****ng time!

Don't be surprised if another identical one arrives at you some of these days. 'Nuff said...

I just hope you like it and the fish will hate it! ;-)

Well I may get a chance to use it this weekend, will let you know if I can get out. Still can't put it in the garage.... it has pride of place next to the sofa at the moment (easy to reach to have a fiddle...!!)
