Freediving weights

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Just for the record Donna, I had 2kg on in 1/2 kilo blocks with my new 5ml Elios - this is 0.5kg more than I used with my Freeology suit but I think the suits get less buoyant over time.

I prefer to dive light, if I can bounce back up from 12-15m that is great - would much rather fight at the beginning of a dive than at the end. In fresh water too it can be quite disturbing to turn deep and find you are not going anywhere

if you do the AIDA course with me later this summer we cover weighting in quite a lot of detail.. but I'll help you out anyway if you want it.

My weights came from Submarine in Nice. Places you can get them in the UK include Portland Oceaneering in Portland, Dorset and Howard at Freediver. Alternatively ask Simon Reid nicely and he will make you some

Thanks Sam. I'm pretty sure my weight is ok as I was very bouyant but still worth checking it out. Maybe I'll have a play and see if I can get a kilo or so off my belt....

Martin said he'd make me some weights and knowing him they'll be perfect!!! The ones I'm using at the moment are rubbish but they do the job. Hopefully, I'll have my new ones before the next meet! Also, motionsync has given me a link for some weights which look quite good. He's waiting for a reply from them so I'll also have a look at them to.
