Hi All,

Went in last Thursday afternoon and managed to round up two bass one of around 5.5 pounds and one of about 4 pounds and a large ballan of about 7 pounds. Vis was poor at times but surprise was total. I also managed to miss two other bass and saw a shoal of about seven coming in to witness my missed shot and to laugh at my frantic attempts to reload. Wooden guns rule.

It would seem the only quick thing about a mamba is the speed of the spear, they certainly dont travel a hyper speed in the post.

Its a Swatch Fun Scuba. You can get them in lots of different designs as you'd expect from Swatch http://legendsinc.stores.yahoo.net/funscuba.html

You can get them for well under £50.

When you dive the hour hand goes to a depth scale and the minute hands starts ticking in seconds. The depth is effectively "realtime" not updated every couple of seconds.

When you surface the time function caries on for a few secs then the hands switch back to the time as per normal. BUT, you can then press the big bezel and it will replay your most recent dive, all be it a bit speeded up, the hands spin back to the starting positions and shows you how deep and for how long.

By a combination of presses on the bezel you can save one dive as your "favourite" that can also be replayed at any time.

Underwater its clear from a glance how deep you are and how long you've been down there.

If you simply want something that says how deep and how long, its a winner, especially for the price. I'd like to get a D3 so I could print out a dive profile and do proper nerdy stats, but the purchase fo a new house has kind of put paid to that, for a while at least.

I have an even cheaper nerdy solution. I have put small coloured nylon cable ties on my bobber line at 1m intervals, with 2 at 5m. up to 11m (the length of my line)

If I want to know how deep I drop the weighted end of my line and count the number of ties.

Oh, one thing I should add for those of you who are more piscean than human, it only measures time in seconds up to 2 minutes, then it counts in minutes, but thats never been a problem for me!

Hi All
Meant to say that there is an unnattached parlour pot on the southern side of the small reef in the middle of the northern part of chouet, which has my name on it!!! (Its been there a while looking at it)
I get my new boat in the next couple weeks and this will go some way to replacing the 6 pots I had nicked out of perelle last year!!

Andy there was another unatached pot around the back of the reef in the middle of chouet and laidies bay on the edge of some kelp a couple of weeks ago might still be there it didnt look that old ether.

I was able to go and test out my new suite over the weekend, it felt like I was in a bath compared to my surf sute, need some moor weight's though as the suit is a lot moor boyant. Good dive though and I did not go home fish less I allso saw a garfish for the first time in the water, was tempted to take a shot but resisted.

I took home a good size mullet I thought it was a bass as it was just siting behind some weed ,I new that I would probably miss the long nose so I didnt want to take a shot and then see a bass or somthing.

I've shot a longnose, on the same dive that I missed quite a few 5lbs plus bass, I'm still trying to work out how I could hit the longnose and not the bass!

Tom. Tonight tricky for me time wise. Wind NW force 5 at the moment and forcast to stay that way till tomorrow morning. Tomorrow night would be better for me.
