Links for D3 include Denny's. Bought my next to last suit from them. Good service and prices.
Podge, you weren't done. £169 with VAT is £143.80 without. The Jersey firm Apnea give ex Vat prices.
ROHO are advertising D3's for £139 (assume ex VAT) but have mailed them to check.
Be interested to hear if vis is fishable, as seems unlikely, but whatever 'fraid I have a rotten cold so not diving at present. Sam when and were you in and what was the vis?

SWI from Belegreve up around Bordeaux, to L'ancresse showed viz not to be great but fishable (as much as you can tell from looking at it anyway). But one place stood out, looked surprisingly clear, lots of fry in the water, easy access....

Ha ha Mart, that would be soooo funny. Besides, we've got no internet access where we are now (so don't expect me to get any messages outside of work hours) and she's far too concientious to use the internet at work so it couldn't have been her :t
Does anyone want to buy this Swatch thing I've got if I get a D3? £30, mint condition, its blue.
Anyway, so, went on a road trip last night, all on my lonesome in the dark.
Parked up on the northern pier head, got changed under the lights and stumbled down the steps into the water, most convenient.
First find was a 150g breakway fishing weight, which goes someway to replacing the bucket load I lost a week or two ago. Soon became obvious that this was a red mullet hot spot. Unfortunately they were all 2 inches long.
Viz was ok, though there was a stretch that was pretty murky, discovered this was the stream coming out of the Land Rec marina. So pushed through that and soon found my first fish of substance. A plaice which seemed a lot bigger in the water than it did once I got out!
Carried on out alongside the land rec boulder wall, was in about 3m or so but them on one dive the sand just dropped away from me, and kept going down. Now this was a fish holding feature if ever I saw one, unfortunately being out on my own the confidence wasn't sky high so was a bit nervous following it down. Not being the deepest diver when it reached 7-8m and was still going I bottled it and turned for the surface and in doing so caught a glimpse of something red. Lungs suddenly found an extra reserve of air so I turned again and found a big old mumma red mullet. Slotted it and turned again. Unfortunately the spear was wedged in the sand and I needed air so had to leave the gun dangling. Viz wasn't great so couldn't see it from the surface but managed to drop on it on the next dive so retrieved my 1lbs 8oz red mullet.
Would have loved to explore this shelf a bit more but didn't have the confidence on my own in that depth at night in not great viz so turned back in. Found another small plaice on the way in, a massive cuttle that'll go in the freezer for bait, and the shallows contained a few 6inch sole and some other flatties that may have been something other than plaice but they were too small to tell.
Did come across a bass of about 3-4lbs, but saw another one just past it so went to see if it was bigger, but turned out to be a schoolie, by which time the bigger one had scarpered.
All good fun, if a bit unnerving on your own!

Well done Tom. Nice catch. I know this area like the proverbial back of my hand but never night dived there. Good to hear the vis was fishable. Still suffering the ravages of the cold/flu otherwise would definitely be up for a bit of night diving. Till then have to keep taking the tablets

Splendid Tom-gold mullet award for skill and bravery! I think your Dylan quote is especially appropriate in this case "Do not go gentle into that good night,Rage,rage against the dying of the light." I too know the area well-got me the British sole record there [ until me darned bro-OMD- took it off me! ].
Thanks Derek, would it be erroneus of me to presume that was before the reclamation was begun?
And raging against the night might be a bit of an overstatement in this case, more like whimpering into the night at times!
At one stage when I was trying to find the bottom of this slope I was sure I could hear a boat coming so shot to the surface, only to find it was just my ears grumbling because I hadn't equalised enough! :head

Ah ! The flounder spot 
- good place and there is a reef just beyond the right angle wall (in the middle of the channel in/out) - good spot for bass but can be strong currents too... "GH Corner" if I am not mistaken ...
Spoke to Sarah today Tom and kept very quiet about your new purchase...
(Good luck with the moving - sounds like room service may stop you from moving into the house proper !)

I really am jealous of all of you over there. Here in Cornwall my local viz is terrible (but improving)! I was desperate for a mullet and a cuttle this year but the only RM that i hit managed to tear itself off, and so it is driving me crazy seeign such great catches from you all.
