Happy Birthday VOMD, all you boys were born around the same time eh!

Anyway, last nights dive, Jinxy went to work and naffed it all up again!

Port Grat, looked alright from the shore, viz was fishable once you got out of the inshore crud but a deep swell seemed to put paid to any decent fishy action.

I saw a couple of small ray, a MASSIVE cuttle and not a lot else. OMD and Jinxster got a tiny sole each and that was that. Oh, the curse missed a chance of a red mullet too but not sure what size it was.

Went out deepish to try and get away from the bottom surge, which probably wasn't the cleverest after my cold, was a bit harder to equalise than usual and my left ear hurt a bit when I got home but all seems ok today....another lesson learnt.

Oh and PS. And this is super sad but I am what I am: Last night, as I'm internetless at home for a while, I managed to get on the forum and read the posts on my mobile! Might even have been able to reply but there seemed to be some problem logging in. I don't think its a problem with the site, more C&W because I had exactly the same problem with other sites too.

As Magpie said no chance of any record breaking plaice last night. I had a sh1t dive. Had cramp in the arches of both feet and my calves feeling like they were about to go into cramp at any time oh and I was suffering from indegestion as well (Even though I hadn't eaten)

Saw 3 small plaice and 2 red mullet and 2 smll ray. Had a shot at 1 red mullet but it got off I need to improve my accuracy and make sure I get a head shot, perhaps I should try garfish for target practice?

I'll try and get in over the weekend, so may see some of you around

Thanks for the greetings guys.Foxfish and I have birthdays only 4 days apart but our dates of birth are separated by 22 years and I'm 15 years senior to OMD [ so VOMD is no exaggeration].The "birthday suit" was,as no doubt you guessed,donned today for surfing and judging from the swell along the west it's not surprising last night's conditions were far from ideal for fishing.I used to have good vis as my first priority followed by whether my ears would clear properly.View attachment 10836

Went in this afternoon 'down home' looking for bass, but got 2lb dover and I swear that was the only fish I saw in 2hrs!! Viz not good will post fuller report tomorrow.
