Quite right mate - even more of a shame that so many English charter boats come over here to catch those tiny flatties!
I did a google search for "Sark spearfishing" and look what i came up with:

Sark has some funny laws. Basically there are some laws for locals and some for the rest of the world. I believe that spearfishing is banned in Sark at least for non Sarkees. Non locals can't scallop dive or lay pots etc. Parlour pots are banned and they have closed seasons. Mart may know more as he visits regularly.

roflroflroflroflroflroflGoogle is getting a bit odd about Sark. I did some searching for Sark related thnigs last week. Mainly fish or cave related searches. If I searches for "Sark" and "Cave,' it noi only asked me if I really meant "Dark Cave" but it started listing pages about "Dark caves." When I searched for a subject related to the water or fish, "Sark" suddenly meant "Shark." :head

Google knows the area and country you live in. It also remembers what you look at and like so relevant sites pop up.
The reason Foxfish got such a sark rich Search is because he's on Google.co.uk and lives in the Uk/Channel Islands.......... at least I think thats how it works

I've been spearing 4 or 5 times a week for at least the last 3 weeks. best run of weather for years although I have not had any outstanding vis and there's been some swell, overall it's always been fishable.
Started the year well with that big 8lb + bass and then my other 8 a few weeks later/ago. Has a good patch where I was getting 2 or 3 bass average and I seemed to be on top form. never saw a lot of fish but somedays was getting almost everyone of them.
Apart from 2 big wrasse and one golden grey mullet all my fish were bass. Average size was only 2 to 3lb but all good eaters and the odd bigger fish kept up my interest.
Then about 10 days ago it all turned pearshaped. I shot 4 bass only to lose 3 off the spear. Sometimes I don't lose 3 bass in a season so this was a big deal. Since then I've hardly seen a bass. On 3 of my 2 hour dives I never even saw a single fish. The Gods have turned against me. On the days that weren't blanks it was only a single fish landed and often the only one seen.
This has been the position for this week with few seen or speared so last night as the tide was right I decided to look after dark. Armed with my new Chinese, claimed 900 lumens, LED torch powered by 2 Li On batteries, I set forth.
Nice calm conditions and torch working well I saw loads of small pollack and encouragingly a lot of small plaice. Saw 5 bass within the first half hour and took the 2 which were the usual 2-3lb-ers. Then stupidly I wandered off elsewhere and didn't see anymore. I especially didn't see any more when the torch cut out completely leaving me to swim home in the dark - kind of scary.
Looks like the torch only lasts 1hr 15 minutes max on max power. It didn't fade out so I'm assuming the elecronics cuts it dead at a certain (low) voltage. It hadn't leaked and charged overnight it is all working again.

Yes it will have low voltage protection built in, both the batteries and the torch itself will have as Li-ion's can get nasty if you drain them too far.
The P7 version you got will drain more juice than the slightly more expensive MC-E version for similar outputs (albeit the P7 claims more lumens I've compared the two side by side and kept the MC-E myself and the P7 became the my old boys christmas present
). But I've just put the numbers in a runtime calculator and you should get about an hour and a half on the presumption that the batts are about 2000mah. 3000mah batts will get you up to 2 hours (though off DX 3000mah won't actually be that high). This is all on the basis of the driver being about 85% efficient, which should be about right for a cheapo torch like that.
Mine be worth getting some higher mah 18650 batts off the same site, the ones it comes with aren't that great.
How did you find it before it conked out?

Thanks Tom. It's a very good torch in terms of light output and the small size is a suprising advantage. Didn't realise how big and clumsy my PT Shockwave was 'til I tried the P7. The batteries are marked L1-ion 18650 2200mAh 3.7V. There are 2 mounted in series. Last night I stuck a meter on them and they were at 3.2V and after charging this morning they read 4.2V.
To be honest the run time was no more than 1hr 15m and could have been ony the 1 hour. That's not really long enough. One of the probs with my original PT non LED was the run time which was 1.5hrs+ with new rechargable NiHd's but came down to less than 1.5hrs with age. Also I was unable to use the 20watt bulb for long as it ate into the run time.
When I got the Shockwave LED runtime was 12+hrs and light output at 170 lumens was better than the old filament bulb at 13 watt.
I need more runtime for the P7 to be usable. What cells do you recommend? 3000mAh, are they a straight swap. How much, any idea? Any tips on charging as I wonder if they weren't fully charged at the start of the dive.

If you're getting 4.2 volts out of them they're fully charged, the most I've seen out of any of mine is 4.24v. 3.2v sounds about right for the protection to kick in.
You could get 3000's, yes, straight swap, like these: DealExtreme: $14.21 UltraFire Protected 18650 3.7V 3000mAh Lithium Batteries (2-Pack) but they won't actually be 3000mah, but then your 2200's won;t actually be that either.
One thing to also consider is they may be higher capacity but they may not like the high drain a P7 requires. Better quality but lower capacity can last longer in high drain appliances. Truth is it's a bit of pot luck and I doubt any of them will push it much past an hour and a half on full power constant running.
