Derek, i like the palm tree with snow!!

In again tonight with Andy 'Spirit'; it was fine in the water altho i started getting cold quickly afterwards.
vis was superb again and there were fish to be seen from the start.
within a few minutes of getting in i found my first suspicious 'blob', so i took a dive and was very pleased to see a good size sole right in close to the rocks - the first decent sole i've seen for ages!!
this was followed by a couple of smaller plaice and then to my ABSOLUTE DELIGHT... a Turbot only little, but they're soo tasty!
And finally i came accross a nice size bass AND i managed to shoot the fish, not the shadow!!
I also saw some large squid, about a foot and a half, a lone spider crab (missing some legs), and i saw & left as many flatties as i took - all there for next time...
definately a bonus swim after a particularly difficult day in the office!
I'm sure Andy will add his take on the dive - i managed to lose him towards the end, which was quite impressive given that it was flat calm and great vis!

Another great trip, thanks Jonny.

I was wearing scuba fins, so when Jonny stretched his legs, I couldn't keep up, no matter how much effort I put in. Will have to get some new fins next year, but the bank balance has been hit hard recently, so they will have to wait until the spring.

It was also my 1st trip out with a new semi-dry. I found that I was much too buoyant so will have to add another Kg or two before the next dive. This meant that I was restricted to the surface, but still managed to bag my 1st plaice. At least I was toasty warm, in and out of the water.

It was my 1st snorkelling night dive, absolutely loved it, can't wait for the next one. Off now to fillet some fish.

Have a nice pile of plaice fillets. Now need some polystyrene trays so that the wife thinks they have come from the supermarket.

i didnt really think about the fins - i just thought you had stopped for a fish or something. I think your fins are fine and that semi-dry suit - why dont they make spearo suits that good!!!

See this all sounds great and makes me want to go slap the batteries in the charger and go see the viz for myself, but then I step outside, instant frostbite hits me toes, and sitting infront of the fire reading about your dives seems a far better option!

Keep up the good work chaps, any chance of a vid next time Jonny? Show me what I'm missing?

ok, vid next time maybe...
Paul the turbot lasted only seconds when i got home!! it was just over minimum size so i probably would leave it next time- now that i've had one!!

Lovely sight and read johnny. Going out there to chase fish is one thing but going out to get IN to chase fish is another matter and i think you both deserve the fine fish you were rewarded with. Did you weigh the sole and was it over the tw........... 1b barrier.:king
