Thanks for the opinions on the flattie guys, i did have topknot on the list, but had convinced myself that it was right-eyed, so to speak. The tail is very 'Topknot' as per my "Sea Fishes" [sic] book that i have.

I managed a short dip somewhere else out a bit deeper and much clearer tonight, but didnt even sea a single fishy.
Funny the thinks that spook me when out tho, i bumped into a buoy at one point when i turned my head - creepers did i jump!!!

So - snow or no snow?
It seems England is going to get plastered white but I have just googled up 5 or 6 Guernsey weather site all of which suggest 5-6 c for the weekend!

The good old days when spiders were plentiful & you could even find the odd sole.

When I was a nipper, in the late '60s, we used to go down to Vazon and pick up spidercrabs at low tide from the shallows at the North end. In the early '70s I started snorkelling and remember the sea bed being carpeted with them, mainly females, but with larger males around the edges of clumps.

We’ve got about 7 or 8 inches on the roads over here in my neck of the woods, interesting drive to work this morning, there’s vans and lorries all over the place!

Still full of a cold, so no more spearfishing for me this year.

Meant to be off on a scuba holiday soon, but with the weather, it could end up being a fortnight on a bench in Gatwick. Even if I get to Lanzarote, I am in no condition to dive at the moment so could be stuck on dry land.

Ah but there's oyster tables in quite a few places, Rocquaine, Port Grat, Grande Havre, Chouet, Paradis and Herm off the top of me head but there's probably more.

That said, those look too sandy for Rocquaine and Paradis, and too long for Port Grat, and they're used which I don't think Port Grat is anymore, and Herms a long way away, sooo I'll go for Chouet?

well it was just meant to be a bit of fun, harder by video than with a photo!!
I dont think many of the tables are in use at the moment?
