I have now had two pms asking where the new Guernsey thread is!
What has happened is the forums general heading has changed from Guernsey to Channel Islands - here, UK & Ireland
So we can try & adapt - what are your views please?

My personal view is our friends from over the water have very little input into the forum and changing the name of the main thread is not going to change that at all.
I like the tradition and think we should keep the "Guernsey" thread string going. Changing the name of the forum subsection is fine, but we should keep the thread the same.

I have to agree Tom but as you suggest, lets wait & see if there are any other folk who want to comment.
On a very different note I have some very sad news, my brother Derek passed away this afternoon.
Derek died very shortly after being diagnosed with a terminal illness.
He was with us over Christmas & was in good spirit.
Let us all hope he is with OMD now watching over us & the forum.
Rest in peace Derek Foxen.

What very sad news....I was luck enough to have spent an hour or two in Dereks company and I am all the richer for it. I am sure he is with OMD now and keepinf everyone in line up there! My thoughts are with Mart and family. RIP Derek you will be sorely missed mate!!

This year? I hope to get back in the water again, 2010 was a busy and challenging year and I will make more time for myself this year.

Very very sad for you on your loss Foxfish....our prayers are for you and your family at this very tough time.
Chaps using the CI name was just an attempt to be more inclusive of the other islands, and i had no idea that there was a strong feeling otherwise. Perhaps a forum mod would do the honours and change the title, or just start a new thread. I really dont mind either way

No problem Jonny, it's just we've had our threads going since 2005 and it's a bit of a tradition now. Of course everyone is welcome, even bloney crapauds

I'm so glad to have met Derek on a number of occasions. His ability to remember people - and seemingly insignificant details about them - always struck me.
It was Derek that introduced me to Johnny250 - and for that I am most grateful.
