Thank you for the links etc, and that foxfish that would be great thanks! How would be best getting it? went spearfishing tonight, 2 bass and a sole, saw a huge garnard but panicked and missed, so annoyed :/
Had a quick dip last light in Grand Havre. Caught a nice sole, saw loads and loads of small plaice, a couple of small bass <1/2lb and a few rockies. Also came across a common eel with an attitude! Seemed to think she was a 100lb conger when I checked her out.
Visibility was not too bad, considering the recent weather. Need to get my fins sorted out, still need to find time for a trip to Jersey to visit Apnea.

Jonny I commend you for making the effort to get folk diving - what a contrast from 5-6 years ago when the Guernsey thread was on fire with activity - what has happened?
I guess we had two really bad years of "non existent vis" but things are looking much better now.
What has happened to all the past regular posters & occasional visitors?
Shame......let's hope things brighten up?
My fire house is always open to visitors - jonny it about time we had a jamming session...any one else play or sing?

Nippers seem to spend more of their time playing computer games than using the adventure playground on their doorstep. There has been a general lack of interest over the last decade from the youngsters.
I am hopeful that the recent surge in water activities brought about by Outdoor Guernsey and Island Adventures will rub off on other areas, including spearfishing. I am now getting my nipper out snorkelling, so maybe he will follow his old man one day.

Jam session sounds like a good plan..
i'm very rusty on the banjer now tho!I would love to paddle round the island with the marines on Saturday... cant do the running part tho
I heard they might open it up to non-military teams next year, that would be good! anyone else going down for the off?

I can't sing, but can hum sometimes after a long day.
Managed a dive yesdterday evening as the fog came in. The swell limited my options and #1 spot was out. #2 choice was the wells - still swelly but at least i could get in without going surfing!
Vis was ok on the bottom, non-existant on the surface. saw a few pollack and rockies, hard to breathe up with water over the snorkel all the time
i'm hoping the wind will drop enough for a kayak dive session later...

Good luck today Jonny, looks fantastic out there at the moment.
I went out with a mate yesterday in his fast boat, the result is a very sore back well sciatic nerve in the leg actually + a few nice fish!
We are going out again today although I will have to decide if I can actually climb a ladder first!

That's the way to do it mate! I certainly miss the firepit and all that goes with it!!

Yup, the forcast is looking pretty nice for the weekend!
I think i'm going to head out tomorrow lunchtime for a look around Boue Corneille - there's a spot of gravel with my name on it...
Last year i found that my boat-angling flattie catch rate was better after unsettled weather - lets hope that applies to spearo catching too...
