I tried with maps.google.com using some made up numbers and it seemed to work but looked like it was snapping to the nearest road. ??

I'll give it some thought.
I think bass do scavange, saw some schoolies mobbing food off a large wrass a while ago, and actually found a piece of plastic bottle in one last year. The bass I had last week, had definitely been hunting, it had a sprat, 4 small crabs, and a plaice the size of a playing card in its stomach.

Thanks all for the scavenger information and debate. Just goes to show you that even among people with passion & experience, there is still much to debate.
I'll probably be checking in much more often now. Writing is moving foreword at last. And I just got the iPad application that let's me read and write to these forums easily. I'll probably have some different typographical errors now. ;-)

Eric, some of the guys are saying bass are scavengers - I guesse you could say all fish are opportunist & most will even take a piece of dead fish hanging from a hook however to describe in your book that bass are scavengers - I feel would be very misleading.

Thanks again, Foxfish. I won't have bass scavenge, if I specifically mention them at all. That's one of the things about this research. Most of it will be telling me what is impossible. Though there's a decent chance scavenging will be mentioned. I just am not required to produce a comprehensive list.
