yep, good logic Mike and i agree with what you say. i dont know about the 25m rule, just the bit i referenced from the bsa website had stuck in my head for some reason.
it's so sad to know that this all came about because someone was killed.

Mart OMD & Derek are legends and as such they remain with us! hang in there!

Gentlemen put your float line at how ever long you think is right . I have been hit by a kayak .I have a 12m line Its about educating joe public.

I think 100m is good the boat users aren't going to take much notice any way! Well the ones we are aiming at any way.Novice power boat /new jet skiers etc. Sailers are more knowledgeable and considerate think I'd rather get hit by a yaght than power boat .Would of though most of us shore dive and depending on locations 100m is good as boats and rocks/sea bed don't mix to well! Mind you I seen quite a few trying to prove otherwise little do they know they are zooming over inches of water/rocks.50m may be better in busy areas ?um it reminds me you don't hear sailboats coming only the shadow passing over you!

out on the south coast for a run - couldn't decide between running or spearing!
vis is pretty much zero :(
scenery is pretty much pretty :)

looks like your boss has some good fishing! thumbs up on the body board float :)
Saturday is still looking ok for a whetting... probably down the Gouffre for a freedive if anyone is interested...

Hi Foxfish, I caught a few mullet of around 4-5lb, and a couple of bass around 3-4lb, but the weather was a bit rubbish last year and didn't manage to get in as much as i'd liked to have....possibly a bit of an excuse but with 2 young kids opportunities are little slim at times.
I only bought some gear a couple of years ago so still hoping for the big one! still very much learning and need a few pro's to get some advice from.
I was spearfishing with my neighbour last year early May and after 20 minutes in the water he caught this 11lb bass at Portinfer, great shot straight down the back of the neck, so he didn't have to fight with it....cause i know what would have won LOL.
Other picture is a big shoal of Mullet passing by that i took with my CAM on the speargun, they were so close it was take you pick, don't find it normally that easy
