One of my mates posted this picture on face book taken during the Rocquaine Regatta in 1987 ... really fast mower that one!
I won the Regatta spearfishing competition two years in a row around that time too!

hi Jonny, Definitely wld be worth making the trip, that weekend there are two dives planned, the BSA /Open comp on the Saturday and the Club Apnea Silver fish comp on the Sunday. The top UK divers will be there.

crikey that was close! if i'd read this a few hours earlier I may well have talked myself into a 3 and a bit week Ch.Isle holiday but I'm not sure the missus would remain the missus after 3 weeks of being abandoned on random beaches with 2 kids for the day whilst I go fishing! :ycard:ko .....although I could plead weight loss as the motivation for 3 weeks of diving???....hmm? where'd i put that apple pie!?!

The weather is looking good for this weekend, so best go look for a jumbo mullet... whats the plan Spirit? Sunday?

My first dive of 2013 today! Went with JKS on Jerseys SW coast. Vis was worse than it looked from the cliff (turned out to be only about 2m). Gear worked fine, even my breath holds were ok, but no fish seen ............not even a tiny pollack! Chilly on the extremities but still enjoyed it. Conditions are forecast to improve over the weekend............ so if I can work up the enthusiasm to go again, if I want a fish, will have to try a different venue! Good luck if you get in Jonny, should be plenty of monster mullet off your coast at the mo.

The early season should offer big bass, the angler chaps have had some fine bass fishing during the last few weeks!

9am Sunday on the Crown Pier, if the weather holds. Have to be back in the marina by 12:45.
