QUOTE="Jonny250, post: 936501, member: 14189"]well done rockie.
So a bit more info; we went in on thefrom divers coast with the usualhaveletk down from St Martins point car park. from the cliffs the vis looHavelet I but in the water imullet nly themoment 2m above the bottom that was clear. it was good fuswimmingknew i was going to have a hard time swimming out with the monofin - it was hard! once out i had horrendous cramps as the footpockets felt pretty tight [i dont use the monofin very often]. got over it after the first hour and settled into some drops. There was quite a lot to see over the sand and gravel - a nice chancre, cuttle fish and the plaice, plus a few scollies to take back.
I had intentionally left my weight vest in the car and was using my ankle weights on the end of my float line as a marker, so only had 4kg on the belt altogether, but even so, the monofin is like rocket-propelled compared to bifins and i was hitting the bottom super fast, but also using too much energy on the way down, so breathholds werent good. i need a lot more practice with it !!!
it was a good day and good company.
There's a lot more adventures to be had in that area - we need to get the kayaks sorted out...
