Some footage from the last few days:
All good so far, went to the crapaud compnay to have it done. Flew over at 12.30, was done and walking down to pizza hut by 2pm. Very straight forward really, not had any pain at all, just a bit itchy, nothing a contact lens wearer is not used to. All pretty blurry straught after but you can get about on your own no problem. Vision actually got worse yesterday evening, which is normal, but it's better today, not safe to drive or anything but improving.

Agreed about that light, that size of reflector will mean it's all flood too, pretty useless here, especially with a 40min battery life.
I actually entered & exited the water from ladies bay opposite the car park toilets & swam out to the triggerfish reef then across the bay to the knife causeway. I am pretty sure I lost it as I was coming out the water as it was strapped to my leg & I think it had slipped down to my fin. It must of fell off when I took my fin off in the shallows.
I came out just on low tide so if my theory is correct it will be in about 1m of water today at low water but I had a look yesterday & couldn't find it! The knife is a small one still in it limpet sheaf with a pull cord attached.

You guys need to get out into vazon bay while Jonny still has his guard boat, probably the best chance of an inshore turbot.
I just read that in 1987 my brother Derek caught a 12lb & a 16lb turbot in the centre of vazon on the 21st of September.
Can you imagine towing around those two tied to your belt!

I notice there was 7 giltheads caught from the shore during the speciem hunt last weekend, also a 10lb bass.

also lots of black bream being caught in the bays at the moment.
i think that the kayaks offer the best chance, but yes... need a boatman/cox.
i was hopeful that the cherete mght have been more fishy, there are some amazing sand/gravel patches there, but perhaps its too fast water and the fish bury themselves, might need to try between the tides, at night, on a big spring.
Mart were there still octopuses around in 1987?
No octopus disappeared in 1962 I think.
The area oppisit the land fill does have all the ingredients for flatfish, strong tide, deep water and gravel banks but apart from pollack and bream I have not caught much in that area (boat fishing) but it is a good spot for bass close in to shore ( spaerfishing & rod)

A mate had a 6.5lb bass in that area about 3 months ago so they are/were there. Must admit I have never seen much there but only been out of chouet to sea grass not around to tip. Theres also a gravel patch straight out from chouet beach kiosk at the furthest end of rocks to the left in middle of bay
