Friends, we all love adrenaline in the process of searching and hunting, but once we go ashore, gray days begin ... we need to somehow dry the "desalinated" equipment so that the water can quickly flow and it dries out well. For drying equipment previously all the available means were used - such as ordinary hangers, ropes, hooks, tree branches, etc. As a result, the little penny in front of the entrance to the garage, with accessories hanging around, resembled a platform for decorating a Christmas tree. At the same time the biggest problems in the correct placement deliver such small items as socks and gloves. Since they require giving a certain position for the rapid flow of water, and the use of all kinds of clothespins and hooks, leaves indelible marks on the products of neoprene.

Having thoroughly discussed this problem with Wasil Beketoff, a friend of the underwater hunt, and having started the process for solving it, first on paper and then in real layouts, we came to an understanding of the technical specifications for the future design. And by trial and error, the product was born - Hanger Dryer Underwater Equipment, or abbreviated VSPS-3. The number three is just the third one, made and tested by us.

And the last point in its design was put by Vasily, who said: This “Fac” should not only hang - but also stand!
A little about the features: VSPS3 in the folded state is a compact product from the heels of stainless wire, which are decorated in two shoulders under neoprene socks or boots, and two "fake" for drying gloves.

To bring the VSPS-3 in working condition, the fakie are revealed, and the design acquires the ability to “stand up”.

Further, we place it in a basin or pallet, “decorate” like a New Year tree with socks and gloves.

Those. water does not drip anywhere, and does not irritate the nervous system of the surrounding household. After the water is drained, we transfer our design to the draft,

and later on, right on the dryer, we remove it in the cupboard

I found a useful hanger in a Pound store, before it closed. Basically a coat hanger that folds out into a cross, when viewed from above - a 3D hanger! Each leg of the cross has, I think, 2 attached clothes clips ("pegs"). Designed for socks/ tights I expect but handy for dive gloves and .

The main thing with dive gear is to hang it with all the openings pointing downwards so that the items continue to drain after they have washed. Gloves are probably the hardest if they are neoprene cold water gloves as getting all moisture out of the finger "wells" can be slow. Basically you want air to circulate within them and some gloves tend to stay flat unless you poke something in the finger holes to keep them spread allowing air to circulate and carry away the water vapour. During hot weather this is not a problem, but early or late in the season there is not much drying capacity in the air due to high humidity and this is when drying gear thoroughly can be difficult. In the old days wetsuit stitching sometimes rotted because the wetsuit never dried thoroughly, especially if they were mauser stitched rather than cup stitched as more thread was exposed rather than being buried in the rubber..

I often balance gloves & socks on the edge of a table with the opening over the edge and facing down.
