I am a 25 year old beginner in apnea training and i'm doing table A at the moment with 1:30 hold time. This is example of what i measured:
before training 130:85, after 8 rounds 140:100. my pulse during hold gets to around 40 at lowest.
Is this normal to expect?

Hi,
don't know about pressure figures (I lack the instrumental :) ), but for sure your Heart Rate
drops after a few breatholds, specially if you go past the contractions. Mine goes to the upper thirties
after an static table like yours. It's called bradycardia
and enhanced even more if water is in contact with you, especially your face. I think also blood pressure
increase after/during breathold is normal to expect, but not very founded opinion hehe

Cheers,

Oscar

40 bpm hr at 1:30 is very good. That means your body is responding fast to switching to a oxygen conservation mode. I suspect that with that low of hr you can go way beyond 1:30. Are you taking warm up holds before trying your maximum? You should. Then refuse the pain and push it further. 1:30 isn’t much in fact you could probably do that with no air in your lungs at all. As you near your limit your hr may go up 20 beats. Some people’s do and some don’t.

Just for the record, this 1:30 is my table A time where i do 8 holds of 1:30 with reducing rest time. As I am a beginner in apnea training my maximum is just over 3 minutes at this point.
Heart pressure and bpm were measured at these table trainings, not when going for max.

Silly me. :duh I didn't read you post very well. A lot of things contribute to good statics. Sounds like you reach the bradycardia state well so my guess is you can go well past 3 minutes.;)
