Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The dive reflex

You know, one thing I left out, and we've all left out, is that freediving involves a fairly well-established response - the mammalian dive reflex - that other sports do not. Whenever we try to extrapolate diet or training aids to freediving, we must keep in mind that anything that interferes with the MDR is counter productive, and so what works on land might have just the opposite effect in freediving because of the MDR.

And besides all that, I'm with you, Ken. Bill notwithstanding (he's my hero on this forum - retire, then peak), I'm too old to push my limits.
