Each year we get a few spearos who come to visit our Island. I know there are more hoping to visit next year, I thought a Guernsey Deeper Blue "fishin" might be good idea? Of course you dont have to be a spearo to enjoy our waters. Any one would be welcome, July is probably the most reliable weather, so any one interested?
Mart.

Yes very, would love to come over and tickle some of your bass.
Fairly sure that my dive buddy would also be up for it.
Tell us more?

Podge, I just thought it might be more fun to have a few members coming at the same time rather than spread out over the summer.
It might be a bit early to set actual dates, our tide table will be out in December but we can leave this thread going & see what interest there is.
This year we had fantastic weather in July & the vis was very good most of the time. I am no travel agent but would suggest booking early in the new year as Guernsey can be busy mid summer.
I will pm the Italians who came this year & I know at least 4 other members are interested. However any sujestions are welcome, maybe a long weekend?
PS even full on Jersey men are welcome rofl

hey foxfish put my name down it looks amazing down there! long weekend sounds good to me, roll on summer

Jim and myself usually have a long weekend down in sunny Cornwall in July so a long weekend in Very sunny Guernsey at about the same time of year would be great.

As podge says, definately count me in. Reading the guernsey reports always makes me dribble, would love to come over and check it out, will be a pleasent change from cornwall. Is it gonna be like a darth vader appreciation society meet, mamba lovers need only reply?;->

Hi guys!

So long as you dont mind us young un's tagging along, petey h and i would Love a trip out. We face uni life next year and so will be hopefully travelling alot through the year; a trip to Gurnsey would be amazing - especially after reading your trip reports through the summer this year !!!

Would be great to meet everyone!

Cheers,
Huw.

Let's hire a coach, fill it with booze and diving equipment and point it towards Guernsey!!!! By the sounds of it we are going to have to build our own campsite once we get there rofl rofl

As long as its got a good restaurant, a 20 foot bar, is air conditioned, has room service, hot and cold running water and is a least 4 star I’ll sleep anywhere.rofl

OK this looks like it might happen then!:friday What type of accommodation do you guys want? How are you going to get here? How long do you want to stay?
Spaniards idea might in fact be a good one although booze will be cheaper here anyway:friday Dont forget we are VAT free so you could order gear & take it home with you (probably illegal?)
You can fly from Southampton for about £70, we will have a certain amount of gear you can borrow like guns & weights if you do fly.
To give you an idea what to expect in Guernsey, it is crowded with wealthy people & cars, then there is us! not so wealthy spearos who enjoy our not so crowded sea! When the weather is bad there ain't much to do! but being an Island there will always be somewhere to dive. Most of us are not deep divers but there is plenty of opportunity for anyone's ability.
I just love Sark, Sark is a tiny Island 9 miles away across the sea, there is no spearfishing in Sark but what a place, not to be missed for anyone with a love for scenery or wildlife, like me
So ask away any questions?

I'm not fussed how I get there we can sort that out. As for accommodation do you think we should all get on a campsite or are there any diver-friendly B&B's near the sea? I'm aiming for a long-weekend type scenario.

Ditto with The Spaniard but would prefer a B+B to a campsite.
As for getting there will probably take the cat from Weymouth.

How long does the cat take? I'm usually useless on big boats unless they zip through the water.

Not sure I think about 3 hours but it does push on 30 knots I have been told.
Could meet you down at Weymouth if you want?

Again I think so, if you want to meet up just let me know.

Just checked some flights and long weekend in July flying from gatwick is £32 plus taxes Return with Flybe. Hmmmmmmm???

I need it, we need it.
For me it's YES YES, provided my bosses (wife and chief editor) will let me go in that period. Diplomacy talks to start now.

Water temp? Depth? Regulations (license yes/no)? Wetsuit (5mm?)? Poisonous snakes?

Water temp depends on the ice pack movements
Depth from shallow to bottomless
Regulations and license’s, what are they then
Wetsuit 5mm just the job
Poisonous snakes you wont need to worry about as the ninja turtles have done um all.rofl
Look forward to meeting you Sir Spaghetti
