Very kind of you mate! Yes, the trip was a blast and it was good to see such a good turnout of DB members, 12 or more, most of whom had never met each other before; suffice to say we all got on like a house on fire.

... in fact, we nearly set a house on fire as you can see!rofl

Well put me down for next year for sure; I may even come out again in September! If I remember correctly mate, when you floated the idea last year lots of people said yes but for one reason or another could not come in the end. Perhaps we say first come first served??? Also some of the 'veterans' from 2007 would need less taking care of dive-wise and could probably get on with it and any newbies could be shown the ropes by any of us? The real limitation is the bounds of your hospitality; you can't do your thing with too many people and booking restaurants is a nightmare!!! Pubs are fine and so long as people book their own accomodation then we just need a bit of organisation diving wise. lets see what others say!!

Easy Sarnian, that's my secret GG spot... (but don't tell anyone...)

Mrs Sarnian just asked me where the GG spot was!rofl ( especially a secret one !rofl rofl )

Spaniard's comments sound sensible - first come first served, priority for veterans.:)

Oo er!! Thought it was normally the other way round with that question though!!

Didn't get back till late yesterday (Thanks to late flight) I was able to take advantage of the better weather on Monday and went out to the west side with Marco and Laura - Saw the biggest Bass I've seen - It saw me too and spent no time exchanging pleasantries. Nice size Mullet (filleted and frozen as per my lessons from Mart and Dave - Thanks Guys!) was all we could muster in the end but what a great way to finish off a fantastic trip.

I know it has all been said before - but I had to add my bit.

Thanks to all the Foxens for the great generosity with their time, experience, and sense of humour. As anyone who fishes knows a bit of local knowledge makes a huge difference and our unselfish hosts had no qualms sharing their tips for the most promising spots, conditions, and techniques.

Didnt get a chance to share the Paella, Sarnian, maybe next year - Hope you managed to get the (black) witch into that rubber suit :inlove

Thanks to all the other boys (and gals) who travelled over for your great company it was a real pleasure to meet you all and get into some of that Roquette.

Scottie3030 Do you reckon Island Sands meant brown hair in a camo suit:confused: Obviously an easy mistake - my wife made the same comment:head

Spaniard - see you down in Devon soon - we'll get into a bit of scrumpy my lovely.

Podge - Lovely gesture mate - thanks for the Punjabi Chicken.

Jim - great to meet you mate - looking forwards to getting some Portland tips.

What a lovely island and brilliant trip. Sign me up for next year.

Hi James - glad you got back OK, with fishy luggage intact! She wasn't black ( last time I looked) but hopes to squeeze her curvy bits in and go down for a dive some time soon! I had to use the rest of the tube, plus a patch, but it seems to have worked - many thanks.

Don't forget, Old Man Dave had a camo suit too!:)

Spaniard, that would be some party!

I’m in for next year, might even try for a slightly longer stay. (Thursday through Tuesday)
Just name the dates and book me in for all functions.
The only question is can the Guernsey Lobster stock take the strain of another visit.:) :) :)

I think that lobster will have a lucky escape, Podge is looking the other way!!!

Perhaps you could, every other year, charter a plane and fly to Baja Mexico and feast aplenty on Baja Lobster and all the goodness from the local waters there... My LA colleagues used to take car trips to Puerto Nuevo/Rosarito and eat lobster all weekend long. They deep fry them. For example, Rockin' Baja Lobster

And with all that giant humboldt squid patrolling the waters down around there, that must mean giant calamari, right???

The exchange rate is in your favor, and I believe there is a wide range of libations to select from to wash all the lobster down....

Maybe you'd even get an appearance from Old Sarge!

This was a really fun thread to read and the pictures were fabulous! It was fun to see everyone. Cheers to all of you,

just made my first batch of ice cream using Mrs Sarnian recipe. one lots raspberry and the other dark choc toblerone! umm get in my belly

Hi Scottie

I assume you used Guernsey cream - it's required by the recipe - otherwise it's just not the same!:) I hope you will keep the extermely complex age old recipe a closely guarded secret!
