Hyperfin from Triton equipment

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The feeling of responsiveness in the fin, as well as resistance, is indescribably enjoyable....

The conditions here are perfect-- the marina and sky above like van Ruysdael paintings on such light-filled days.

Hi Gera, are you into painting or the visual arts?

I've just looked up some of van Ruysdael's work and he has some impressive dramatic landscapes and skies! - I love it! I should try it myself the next time. Anyway my modest paintings are still a long way from his abilities. (see my website). Have you got a website?

Today I enjoyed some nice diving in a local lake, diving to max 19m deep. And the relaxation is getting better, and the dives are getting longer, close to 2' :) Maybe this Sunday I'll make a few 2' + frc dives.
My buddy tested her new custom 30 degree WaterWay glide fin, and enjoyed it very much, in fact even more than in a pool. The 18m is becoming just a small stretch, and the by using a monofin no leg burns, just speedy flying!

Ciao,

Kars

A few shots of Gera with her Triton - she says it is more comfortable than her omer bifins!

I think everyone would like to hear more about this 30 degree fin!

I myself are used to a HyperfinS monofin for now 1,5 years. It's blade feels pretty soft, though one can swim pretty quick with it to. The 30 degrees is very helpful to the streamline. Though one must pay a little attention to keep the legs strait, because of bigger angle there is less feedback when you let the legs loose out of their optimal streamline position. The glide phase down is very nice with less drag and more speed in a more relaxed position. Though I think 25 degree would be better for most people who've passed the initial "I'm not flexible" beginner phase in freediving.

I've also had her Water Way 30 degree fin on, with tight fitting foot pockets as her feet are a bit smaller (41) than my 45, the character of the fin was definitely male. More firm in many ways, blade stiffness, foot pocket, type of rubber used, responsiveness. To the contrary of my own dear HyperfinS, who is round and soft and gentle. I wonder what the character of the Triton fins are?

Love, Courage and Water,

Kars

My big Triton feels soft to me - not in a bad way. It has V-bend, Which I do not mind at all, and feels really natural. With it I like to use large amplitude.

My smaller Triton feels 'brisk' - it is snappy, firm and quick. It is also, I think, one of the first fins Max used his new assembly technique with and it is very sturdy. Smaller amplitude with higher frequency feels best with it.

In recent days, the sky above the marina has looked like one of the van Ruysdael harbor/marina paintings-- warm-toned clouds with purple underneath the pale orange and cream, and the water's surface a ruffled violet-blue.

It is unbelievably beautiful here. Whether it is the natural world, or paintings (or music; or architecture)-- those special forms -- it simply pulls one in.

The sense of spaciousness and light; the dissolution of the mind's primacy in ordering one's sense of things, compel one over and over again in both art and underwater.

How beautiful your paintings are; they partake of that sense of spaciousness.

I recently received my new triton fin, damm good looking looks pretty much as molchanova's new fin except yellow blade and withe footpockets
footpockets are really really perfect they consider human feet anatomy fit great confortable and no lost of transmition whatsoever, the new type of wings is great, side rails I prefer the old ones, the blade feel stiffier than what I asked wanted a soft but not ultra soft blade looks more like a medium I'm already considering the factor that hyperfins feels stifier the angle is good exactly what I asked although the fin is not totally paralel to my legs but I have to train a litle flexibility on my ankles
this new kind of triton has the best properties a fin can have not perfect but defenetly better than the glide monfin

The blade will get a bit softer with some usage, nice to read the foot pockets and the rest are such a nice fit, thanks!

Kars

the blade is smaller just a few cm's or the footpockets are closer to not bend either way I will give more input this wednesday

This it's like David Mullins talked about the perfect fin he said no bending at the footpockets angled but no to 32 wicth would ideal, anatomical footpockets yes there is finally a shoe footpocket etc that considers human foot anotomy it only squezes the flufy part of your feet not at the at intersection/start of the feet's fingers, small wing low shock absorber effect the only less is that the blade is no so soft but let's in dynamics how it behaves I prefer a medium amplitude kick works best for dynamics if you give it to much amplitude it will also burn more oxigen since you use muscles, generally my dynamics start with kick and glide then kick kick so i think somehow it will combine with my style, the moment of truth approaches :)

well second dynamic session this year and probably the fisrt with a decent monofin, this the best fin ever great glide even with bare hairy skin :) doesn't need much amplitude, nice to give that pelvis touch and easy to ride, confort and good looking

Nice to read you're happy with your new fin Titan! - You maybe feel like posting some video's?

Today is the best day for diving I have ever seen in Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan....
Clear; warm; impossibly still-- suffused with golden light. The water when overlooking it from the marine docks is astonishingly clear, and all is quiet.

I will dive with this wonderful Triton fin after I finish early in the lab this afternoon. Nothing needs to be added to the perfection of the day; the fin, however, is beyond pleasure to move with in the water.

this babies doesn't stand to much heat other wise they start to unglue

Kars it will be difficult to post a video here since the nearest freediver is 300 km I only saw a another freediver for the first time in aarhus wc but I will try to ask to my spearfishers friends but it will also be difficult bcause I have to stand in the end barbeques peanuts and beer, beautiful ladies under a beautiful sky apart from the minor fact that this 100 km away in a lovely spanish city in the northwest tip of the iberian peninsula :'(

let me just tell you guys although the shoe is similaar to the glide fin is perfectly anatomical and only squezes the fleshy part of your feet not your bones no slushing what so ever ;)

I still worry a bit about the glue quality of my fin, but I just had a chance to spend the past 6 days swimming miles and miles in my hyperfin. I had it made to wear with 5mm socks, but I can only stand to wear it with socks that thick for about 20 minutes or so. With 3mm socks I can go longer, but the fin really seems to shine when I go barefoot with it. I was able to wear it for hours on end while barefoot and never found any hotspots or sore points for all the time I wore it.

If the build quality were higher I would think I'd found the perfect fin for barefoot diving. I still have yet to find a good monofin for wearing with 5mm socks, but that might change with the new Dol-fin. I used to wear a NEMO fin for ice diving, but the lack of blade angle was a pain in the butt- for me at least. I also owned a couple of Specialfin's monofins with full-foot pockets on them that worked out OK with 5mm socks, but they fell apart after only a season or two of use- with little support from Specialfins once they started falling apart.
