Whether or not people choose to regard alternative therapies as part of their lifestyle is none of my business. Maybe it sounds like I'm trying to preach, but believe me I choose my words carefully - hopefully, for the most part.

I'm sure there are plenty of freedivers who - just for fun - might have calculated their breathing type according to terlusollogy calculations (whatever they're worth) and might even have replied but felt intimidated following a couple of thread-killer comments by pragmatic posters such as yourself, trux.

Many other posters I'm sure would have dismissed the idea and not even bothered to have a google (in the old sense of the word). Then again, there are plenty of views, and seeing as there's only you and me left isn't it time to agree to disagree and call it a day?

I understand where you're coming from in that in order to exhale first there must be air to exhale, but try emptying your lungs and making a sound: it's possible.

It isn't.
1) I would LOVE to see anybody actually capable of truly emptying their lungs.
2) Vocal sounds purely require air, without question.

I appreciate your comments - even if they're unapologetic and negative. However, following your recent reply on my tarot thread your words strike me as being also quite incoherent. You're ready to give credit to tarot but not to astrology/terlusollogie: it's like saying you believe in god but not in the devil. Would you like to explain why one is OK but the other is BS?

Check this card below, ten of swords (10 of spades in normal card packs). It mirrors my feelings on the outcome of this thread: it's dead. And as I often tell my more undisciplined students, "If you ain't got anything nice to say then better to say nothing at all..." Anyway, 40-odd replies isn't a bad total for a load of "rubbish" or "bullshit", and perhaps next time it would be more helpful to choose meaningful adjectives before commenting.

I never said I gave it credit, and also it doesn't base itself on entire fact. but i will admit that I do NOT discredit anything which can not be proven via science as I am sure we have all seen something which makes us question the world.

And I may well have been the "undisciplined student" but years on, I WAS the only one the priesthood respected, even for my staunchly defended views. As negative as they were.

Yes, sure, all babies cry on inhale during given half of a day, while the rest cries on exhale. And during the thousands of years of the history nobody noticed such miraculous weird behaviour, until our Big Mr. Terlusollog came and "scientifically" proven and explained us that it is all because of the Moon position.

Please show me the thousands of videos of newborn babies crying on inhale. Not a teen on a Youtube. If really 50% of babies cry on inhale, then the half of all videos of new born babies must clearly demonstrate it. So show me please just a few of them. It must be an easy task.

So the dead thread has been revived: CPR for worn-out threads eh? As a newbie I posted in the 'general freediving' forum. Perhaps it would have been a better topic for 'The Beach Bar'? Are there any moderators around and if so perhaps you'd like to move this thread and at the same time tell us if you're inhalers or exhalers.

Trux, I can definitely see your lunar side - late to bed, plenty of liquids I wonder if a combination of both these characteristics is responsible for the refreshed sarcasm I hear in your tone...

As for youtubes, I don't know if you've ever become a father but the tendancy nowadays is for as few people as possible to be present during birth. As a mother, I really wouldn't have relished the thought of anyone making a video of my intimity to see how my baby first chose breathe air (Incidently, she's solar - an exhaler).

If you watched the video of the foetus inhaling and exhaling then my question is who are you to proclaim that a child only cries on his first exhale? Where are the videos of this? During my last depth training the monitor insisted that after diving I vocalise when taking my initial breath at the surface.

Crying nosily involves both inhaling and exhaling. Finally I do agree that the baby cannot cry with "empty" lungs - but I certainly think it's possible that he makes a vocalised gasping/crying sound when he takes his first breath.

Well, I have been present at the birth of my daughter, and had my video camera with. And in my surrounding I know only few men who did not participate at the birth of their children. But even if it should be very rare to take the video (say less than one case in 100.000), then still at the billions of births in the last years of existence of video cameras, there would have to be many thousands of videos demonstrating the miraculous effect of the Moon on the inhale/exhale cry of newborn babies at given time of the day. If Mr. Big Terlusollog really did his research and statistics, then he certainly documented it somehow, and took at least some of the births on video. There should be nothing simpler than showing a nice sample of videos to prove his hypothesis. And anyone around the world should be able to replicate it easily as well since it happens all the time. So why we do not see this evidence?
