Sorry about that Kb...They still haven't sent my suit, after sending emails the last two days they finally replied. I'm still none the wiser as to what they're doing...save yourself the hassle and buy them somewhere else with DHL shipping and have them in two days. You can ask for a price match if they're more expensive.

3rd Annual Member Meet in the UK will be held in Guernsey (Channel Islands) again between 8th – 10th
We still have room for a few more members to join in the fun.
The spearfishing competition entry is full as we limit the number to 20 divers, however there are still opportunity's to free dive with Apneaboy who will be running a two day freediving course.
Of course you can just come on over & join in the evening entertainment, go you own way spearfishing around our coast & still have time to watch the daily weigh ins !
Come on over and dive our legendary waters where so many British records have been caught... both diving or fishing... you will be welcome.

My new Omer 5mm 3D Mix wetsuit finally arrived yesterday and I got to try it out tonight. I put the longjohns on at home and slid into them like a hot knife through butter. I brought a bottle of warm soapy water to put the jacket on when I arrived at the beach but despite me lubing the jacket and myself with copious amounts of soapy liquid the hood ripped badly as I tried to put it on. I really didn't use all that much force as it felt very delicate to begin with but it was extremely tight as I tried to get my head in, was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and what are the options for getting it repaired, I don't think black witch will hold it or is there any other way to make a lasting repair?

Try small bit of black witch in the rip then stitch with dental floss, then reinforce with more black witch over the stitching. Do all this on the outer edge as chaffs if done on the inside

Oh just saw the pic.. not good.. send it back as dont think the dental floss will work this time

Thanks chealy...I was in touch with Omer about it and they've asked for the receipt which I sent them yesterday. It looks like the tear started on a seam where it was stitched together and then cut its way through the side of the hood as my head suddenly slipped through it with all the lube. Hopefully Omer will replace it as it was the first time putting it on when it happened, if not I'll be doing a repair, there's a good few online videos of how to do it so I feel pretty confident, also found a few people locally who specialise in wetsuit repairs and would do a professional job for €25.

I have an Omer Black moon 5 mm, if you lubricated around the neck piece enough with soapy water before putting it on, then it definetly must be a manufacturing fault and needs to be replaced by them.

Thanks westcoaster, Omer were in touch and said they will replace the hood with a new one with nylon lined neoprene and send it back free of charge...its now winging its way back to Italy .

Would be ,should be, can someone tell the Giltys that we're anxiously awaiting their arrival,we're keeping ourselves busy with Bass in the mean while .

saw plenty of cod too, and as much as I really wanted to add them to the bag... they were just too small

Hey Derek, I'm lurking anxiously waiting for your bream report.... aint it gilty season down your way

It was this time last year when I got the gilty's but so far there is no sign of them... I have been looking .
As Alb said we're just making do with some bass, seeing some very big (for this area) wrasse this year and lots more dogfish than usual, also several species of jellyfish in an area that previously had none. Jap weed is exploding around the SE coast and several of the fish we caught have had bite marks on them presumably after escaping from seals. There is so much detritus near the shore in most areas that its impossible to see any flatfish until they take off when you get near them, its also playing hell with the vis when it kicks up.
Thats a fine catch you got there Bd...was starting to think you boys in Cork had all emigrated .
On our last outing on Wednesday we were met by Inland Fisheries as we came out of the water, three lads from Waterford and they asked to have a look at our catch, had a chat with them and they mentioned someone had found 32 bass heads on a beach nearby so they will be patrolling the area regularly now which is no bad thing. I had a 5.5lb bass and Alb had a lovely 9.2lb bass.

Keep us posted... I'm making do myself in Cork, bass is fine but I like a mixed bag. Here is last evenings catch

Yes, turbot, sole, plaice, bass lobster, spider and some flounder/plunder in the sink. Couldn't carry any more on the banks board
Fair Play Bob ,that's an absolute cracking mixed bag,yer man in the English market would be proud of a display as good as that.
We must come up with a Speros version of a ''McNabb'' .
