Anyone good at composing letters? I'll have a crack at it if no-one else does but maybe someone is good at it and could compose a basic letter that we could use?

VERY VERY touchy. its a week short of 3 months now since i ordered and non even an e-mail saying if its even made yet. :rcard as you can see im slightly pi***d at the whole situation. might have it for winter with a bit of luck though.rofl

It looks a fantastic spot for bass with a bit more tide and vis I agree.
The mullet went down with tomato and chilli/garlic on cous cous. on the next night.
The race to france was windy with full gales both days. we were on course to win till the mast broke with 40 miles to go so could only sail down wind, luckily that was towards plymouth so we sailed with what was left back across the channel .:vangry
so back at work a week earlier than expected.
I'd like to have a crack at this as well - maybe we could both post our letters and cherry-pick the best bits of each for a final?

Went to rocky bay near Nohoval after work today. Got tossed around in the surge for a half hour in very poor vis. Saw no fish so headed back. I was almost out when I saw a shape in the shallows, a decent bass a couple of feet from me. He hadn't seen me, I shot and missed. I'm fairly p*ss*d as I haven't seen a whole lot of bass so far this year and should really have put him away.
hey guys, haven't been on much in the last while due to exams and being in Canada! i'm all land locked or kind of at least, right on the shores of lake ontario.
got out for some good spearing on the aran islands in the first few days of june.
saw some nice fish, and a monster pollock, or his tail at least.
came across a seal one evening as well, who just seemed to appear out of nowhere at about 10m. he was just hiding in under a ledge, peering out ( it was a pup) well i got some serious fright! watched him on my ascent, but didn't see him gain after that.
picked some brown crab off a wall, which is just off the shore. the spot is great, you litterlly drop into 10 metres off the rocks.
took a seriously seriously big wrasse one of the evenings, which made a great gift for my grandfather. don't think i'd ever seen one so big. and he reckoned it was the biggest he'd seen as well, and he fished for many years commercially. have a photo of that monster of wrasse, which i will post when i get home.
we all need to get orgainsed for this legislation thing.
a template letter is a good idea, as well a list of who we should send it too.
not sure if emil alone would be enough. this may also call for pen and paper.

I finally got out on Monday evening as the forecast said there would be a break in the weather and boy was there.
We were in the water by 7pm, Phillipe was spearing myself and Sean training on my new dive platform/thingy. It worked out pretty well. Its just one of those speed boat rings that holds a coil of marked rope around a garden hose reel. The sail maker punched a hole in the bottom canvas to let the rope through. So far so good anyway. Phillipe got a few nice sized pollock and a crab. Sean set a new pb at 10m and I trained with the lanyard once again to about 14.5m. The vis was great especially considering the weather the day before.We stayed until about 9.30 and witnessed a lovely sunset. A few shots attached.

well after ordering my suit from elios through spearo uk at the start of april i eventually got feedback. the suit has not been started yet:rcard. they told me that the suit will be started next week and will be sent to me on the 8th of july and will arrive 10 days later 15 weeks after i ordered it:head. i was told 4-6 weeks. not a happy bunny as u could imagine. anybody have trouble ordering a suit off elios before? is it just me or is 3 months and 1 week a long time to be waiting??

Johnny as far as I can remember, ordering direct from Elios took about as long. i wanted my suit for a course but it landed a few months after and I ended up buying a cressi comp 5 mm for the course. It is worth the wait but they can take a hell of a long time. This is the busiest time of the year for them I guess but you should have been given a realistic timescale. Hope it lands soon and that the early July delivery is on time.

I've been thinking about this and it might be better if we all write to the MEPs rather than send one letter from the group. One letter could easily be binned but 7 or 8 on the same subject might stand out a little better.
donnachad, tethered is just safer especially if you are going deeper, wearing the lanyard takes a bit of getting used to but its worthwhile to get the practice.
That's a shocking time to wait Johnny. I ordered directly from Elios and my suit took only a few weeks. I was also in touch the whole time. They answered all emails. I went direct to Elios as I could see no reason to change money to sterling, only to change it back to Euros.
Elios' couriers (Bartolini) seem to deliver by a long route but elios answer all emails which counts for a lot in my books.
If it's any consolation I'm having a similar problem with Specialfins who should have dispatched my finblades on 18.6.08 but aren't answering my emails.
I dunno if the projectile ban will have any affect on spearos at all. Having had a quick look over the proposal its clear to see it's about commercial fishing on a large scale and I dont think it will have any affect on me jumping in my car, heading to the coast and taking a bass for dinner.

ya, seems to be only effecting the sale of fish that have been speared. could have more implications too so it wont hurt to send some letters and find out more on it.
