lads what about the aqua centre.
someone posted about it before.
its only €4 off peak(when slides section is closed) and they allow fins no problem.
scuba clubs use the 5M deep pool so they might even allow us into that. its just off M50 so not too hard for people to get to
what do you think?
i know that scuba club , it`s Oceandivers. i done padi course with them, they sound guys. i renting sometimes some gear from them , if i go deep sea diving. i can ask them , we might get lucky. they run training every Tuesday night. if i remember good it`s start pool session around 9 pm. i will talk to them. it is goood idea.

it would be cool to get into the deep pool, you cant even do a proper surface dive in the shallow water in normal pools. there is a spearo already in the pool on tuesdays with that club. he put a post up a while back it think it was called dublin training, rory was his name i think

Scalloping again today! What a beautiful day for it too with gentle winter sunshine, calm water, blue skies and only gentle breeze. The vis was still bad and it was a bit chilly although I was warm enough in the water (10 degrees c).

Danas, I'll do some photos of scallops on the seabed but I'm waiting for the vis to clear first.
Sea conditions are looking good for this week and I think the water should be OK for spearfishing again by the weekend. I'll probably go in local during the week and take a look. I don't suppose there'll be many fish about but there's one way to find out.:)
Anyone fancy a Christmas dive (if the weather holds)?

Danas, here is a video i made collecting with donnachad. he has some from my camera too(EWEchewbR)Have a look, it might help you locate them easier. cant reveal the location as im afraid it will get fished out, nothing personal. not a great video but u can see how they look and how easy they are to get. we were catching these in shallow water6-7m. Hope it helps on your quest for the illusive scallops!

I drove over to the Western side of Courtmacsherry bay this morning to check the vis. It looked OK so I drove twenty miles to a spot on the Eastern side to dive. As the wind was from the West it was a bit choppier - I should have stayed on the West.
Upshot, I swam out half a mile and back in, in the water two hours, saw no fish, water temparature 7 to 8 degrees. Lovely!
I'll try again in a couple of days.
oh, and well done to Scott Wilson, http://forums.deeperblue.com/devon/81472-south-devon-report-2009-a-155.html looks like fish of the month to me.

That video by scott really warrants a look! great catch!
Drove east today as west was out due to ice. got there and walked the mile out onto the headland and saw the vis was pea soup so went for a walk instead. Gonna go west xmas eve and hopefully get a dive in with sunfish. Itching to try my new open cell socks and gloves, and what better time to try them!! 7-9 sounds cold sunfish!

Seasons greetings to all on DB.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my mates on DB :inlove.

Dave.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas :friday & a Happy and prosperous New Year.

The Christmas eve dive didn't happen as the roads here are just not safe to drive so here's wishing Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all. I'm well up for a dive when the roads clear a bit but sea conditions look like they're going bad from tomorrow night. Does that make sense? I'm off for some more mulled wine, cheers everyone!!!

Happy Xmass all, and Happy new year.

Long time Looker, but mostly Scubadiver, so I dont post alot.

I was just looking for a Scuba mask there for the last hour or sso, And I came across subprof.com where I noticed that apnea masks, which are nearly 100% the same as Scuba masks, except lower volume and cheaper, but they all have two lenses and I would prefer a single lens.

So my question is do any of you know a site where I can get a single lens frameless black mask.
TIA
Declan
