Well done Neal. This footage needs to go to the relevant authorities. I think u should go to the papers with it...... Or...... Keep it quiet???? What effect will it have on us?????
The idea with the location is to recreate the conditions where we dive to be able to do some real hands on practice in the water and on the shore or boat etc.We'll see if anyone is interested and we will decide the location to suit everyone.Hi Vasile, first of all great post and we should all think seriously about this subject.
I´m totally in for it, but probably more around November/December, but having more less like a structure of this eventual course could be also a good idea to "promote" the course himself.
Does anyone know some places and conditions, like in Blanchardstown Aquatic Center, etc. for doing some such event?
Feargus might have some suggestions since that he is a bit more inside "the business"...!

Not sure what to do, personally I would love to see him lose his licence and a hefty fine. Ultimately it's up to Choker to take it further if he wants, either the guy on the boat didn't see the camera or else he just doesn't give a S**T. He also seems to be taking photos himself to what end I don't know.
If it had been me I would have told him where to go and definitely reported him. Going to the press could open a can of worms, but this guy put the lives of other water users in serious danger and should not get away with it, well that's my two cents anyway.

I would strongly advise guys to provide the coast guards with a track report,were you fish,for how long and when you plan to return to shore.They can be contacted at 016620922.Cost nothing and if something happen they know where to look for.I'll say we will get a lot more of this aggressive behavior ...Don't know what make this idiot to stop driving his boat over you guys.. you were very lucky!Jesus.... talk about anglers giving stick...what about this!!

I do not see the point of going to the media...
But you must go to the cops and show them the footage and press charges....

yeah actually showing something like that, him being filmed without his knowledge could get messy. Defo get the guards involved but have them briefed on the legality of spearfishing first so that they aint coming back with misinformation.

Like I said it's up to Choker if I can track down the boat owner in 10mins I'm sure the guards can too. Feargus's point about him being filmed without his knowledge is valid but in the circumstances I'm sure it's mute. Also the Fisherman took photo's himself without asking permission. It will be interesting to see what if anything develops from this nasty incident.
On another note. My brother just returned home from a tuna fishing trip. He was measuring and observing bycatch particularly dolphins. No bycatch but they took 65 ton in 6 days pair trawling.
50 boats at it the same time. 120 miles off Kerry. How long can that be sustained? Majority French and Spanish trawlers and all being sold on mainland Europe.

I completely empathise with everybodies justified anger at this racist and dangerous fisherman, but hold off on the threats to spear him lads. His act of aggression should not be met with another but dealt with by the proper authorities. You can not justify shooting someone like that unless in self defence and you're in immediate harm. I would hate for anyone reading these threads to get the impression that we're likely to spear someone at any provocation.

You may be able to obscure the boat name/markings and the culprits face using editing software and put it back up on Youtube. It certainly is worth keeping it up there as I'm sure any diver/water user will be horrified by and can learn from this.

Hello guys! I about that video with fisherman. I don't want any kind of revenge to him or punishment. Therefore I don't report anywhere. This video shows that despite of precautions as alpha flag we should to be more careful. When I was underwater I couldn't determine position of the boat and where it comes from. I started come to the surface when noise of engine faded putting my gun forward just in case. Additionally a floating line from boy was connected to speargun's butt, not to my belt. Afterwards I talked to my buddy on video. He told me that didn't hear any noise of engine. He saw the boat when it was in front of him. Very strange, even on video the noise was loud. Conclusion is safety first !
