my spearing season is 12 months a year
The ocean giveth and taketh Bad weather and less spearing for us means the fish can get fatter in peace for until the calm weather comes
I heard rumours of snow... perfect spearing weather

Man, I started in march this year and believe me there was nothing but cold water

It's usually colder in March than it is in December though January and February can be a bit chilly too.
I guess the best reason for diving in March is that your body learns to burn loads of calories and keep itself warm. If you keep at it then twice a week you won't be cold again until the following January.

Ah nothing better than a -5c dive for scallops. I'm a firm believer in keeping dive active for reasons sunfish describes. It's practiced by most scuba divers to avoid getting cold and hence, dci. Your body adapts to the cold if u dive regularly.

Ah cold me hole, good suit and socks, need to get me heavier socks organised alright. was surfing for an hour and half last night with no booties etc and the toes were cold at the end of it I have to admit. Wind has dropped a lot here but vis is shite due to the heavy swells of late.

For instance.... there is no point diving to 15m and coming back empty handed... if you can shoot a prize winning pollock in 4m

As a Mentor you also have the power to edit posts, delete stuff that you don’t like, edit other members profile’s (including their avatars, go for it Rob) and the best bit is you can ban people that p*ss you off (although the banning thing is usually for spammers)
