has anybody had a day when they couldnt hit a barn door....must have shot at over 20 pollock this morning and missed every one.... at one stage one was only about 2 feet away.... other than that had a great morning out.... was worth getting up at 5am... sea was flat calm but the viz was a bit cloudy.... saw plenty of spider crabs but left them...still have some crab cakes in freezer... great to see plenty of fish about too...
I've certainly had plenty. Usually early in the season when I'm anxious and pull the trigger instead of squeezing it. Small things usually like pointing and shooting instead of lining up properly, loose hand on the pistol grip etc. I remember missing 6 bass in a row from point blank range. Was about to buy a new gun and my next day was very successful.
yea figured it was just one of those days.... at one stage it was like the fish were laughing at me.... spent 20min in the same spot just shooting and reloading.... in the end i just swam away listening to the sniggering pollock lol... but he who laughs last laughs loudest

Bit unsure about this first of all where did he find Zander in Ireland ? All the fish apart from the highly protected eel look like Zander to me. Which have been introduced into the U.K but are absent in Ireland to the best of my knowledge ! Anyone know better ?
I dont know what fish they are. Certainly don't look Irish except the eel. I'm not to familiar with fresh water fish but ive never seen these before.

According to this Most Unwanted Species | Potential | Freshwater | Zander | Invasive Species Ireland they have not made it here yet and hopefully they never will. I would be almost 100% they are Zander if this is Ireland this raises an even larger problem than some feckin gobshite who cant even equalise. Your right Johnny he does look like a complete helmet. Also eels have been highly protected for a number of years now.
Defo Zander he tagged them as pike-perch which is another name for zander just watched the vid again !

Lads , fish are Zander 100% , I have fished them back home. taste are superb , to me 100 time better taste then bass. they grow up to 20 kg, but they are fresh water fish. any time i flight home , my first dish in home is zander with wild mushroom sauce and fresh potatoes . nothing can beat that :thankyou
They are supposed to be pretty tasty alright if you like freshwater fish. Now all we need to figure out is if indeed this was Ireland where exactly it was because a whole host of agencys need to know !!!!!!!!
reckon its defo ireland if you check his youtube page he commented to the vid saying "so, and who givs a f**k.Im not Irish. gay".... prob when i commented saying its illegal to spear in freshwater....for some reason i had a feeling it was lough derg, could be wrong though...
