IWC World Static Apnea Contest, Monaco 21-23.07

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Mifsud started clapping his hands from ~8' for the public to support him !!
He could have done more if he hadn't.

Great competition, great participants, great chat on db while the competition was going, an excellent saturday night infornt of my computer! :)

Great competition. I want to give my respect to all participants and to Pierre Frolla. What a nice competition. Despite the server problems it was wonderful to watch the competition in real time. Hope that can do something similar for the worlds.

I didn't understand what exactly happen to my brother. Why he got out of the pool.
Agree with Michael, but for me was an excellent saturday afternoon. The Chat was very useful. Thanks to all here

I agree. Great competition (except the screaming lady).

Very impresed by Mifsuds performance. Actualy by all performances. It must have been hard with all the noise around and people jumping in the water.

Congratulations to all..

What I just noticed there where no pulse rates displayed. Would love to see those..

How very very cool...

I wonder about the clapping...I mean one would have to TRAIN that alone to be able to do that :) Does he do it in normal trainings? Even though I found it a bit annoying, I have to say I'm impressed. If I think to the last seconds of a personal static performance, the last thing in my mind is starting to clap :)

Pretty surprising final. I would've expected Karl or Stig to be in the final 3...But, as it seems, anything can happen...

i blive stephan did 8:28 in the last round, not 8:24. A few sec. but still ... rofl

I was there yesterday and I do not regret it ///

i I confirm 8 mn 28 sec for Stephane Mifsud who clapped hands to stir up the public... very impressing...

there was a very special atmosphere in Monaco... with Prince Albert and spring diving demos...

Congrats to all the atheletes for being part of the event and providing us with Saturday entertainment! Hiccups happen... next time. Good work all.

What an amazing final- congratulations to every single athlete competing!
Yours Pat

It looks like the competition was a tremendous success. Congratulations from the DB Team to all athletes and organisers.

I also saw that our Chat facility was used extensively during the live broadcast. As such we will be looking to utilise this facility more in the future to help provide more interactive coverage.

Many Thanks!

yeah the chat was great Stephan - even if most of it was along the lines of

"has your streaming just crashed? yeah mine has too" for most of the evening - but it made it a lot more watchable!

and NO PANOS - THERE WERE NOT TOO MANY BLONDES IN THE CHAT ROOM!

Eric, how was the flight back? Soggy?
Would like to hear about what it was like competing in those conditions, and why Karl Pernett had a running start to his second static...
