congrats Morg! I know you have been waiting to get some gear and try it out.... now tell us how it goes...

and I agree, I really apreciate the fact that the view of Jessica Alba was not obstructed by her fins.....

Jessica had slightly different footpockets in the movie, hows that? Are blades universal (all the different footpockets and blades match)?

By the way, Into The Blue brought me to freediving. Awsome movie.

I'm not sure, maybe she wears socks...

Those are the 'old' ice fins - the first version Omer made awhile back - I believe. There were some problems with them cracking. The new ones weren't quite available at the time they made that movie and I think they had to coax those out of someone's personal stash..

Thanks :), I really enjoyed them! I was just swimming around the bottom of a 6 foot pool for 3 hours and it was a blast hahaha.

I got the odd look too of how I was movin so fast.

I think that I have mastered the dolphin kick thanks to you Lungfish. I remeber reading one of your posts about it starting off in your shoulders and once I did that, wow what a difference. Thanks :D

LOL - I was just going to mention the Vanilla. You only get the sound track if you have an Omer Cobra too - and you've got to have the wetsuit if you want the vocals.

The Ice fins have a very sort of symmetrical return when you kick with them. They generate good thrust but feel very easy. It's obvious some serious math went into the polymer and blade design/thickness/taper.

( I wish I was Canadian - so I could have a cool divers flag like that :) - by the way - the diver's flag was invented here in Michigan)

Oh I know, my room smells of Vanilla LOL.

About the thrust I am very happy with them. I was beside someone doing laps and he was putting everything he had into his speed and I was casually swimming on my back just fining. I won too roflrofl

Thanks for the compliment about that flag :D, Amphibious gave me the idea to make it so he gets some credit as well :). I am going to look into some t-shirts and maby even some patches too :)

With mine I tried without my socks and they were very uncomfortable :(. They fit like a glove with the socks on however and after 3 hours my feet were perfectly fine.

Into the Blue also sparked my interest in breath holding and then that turned into Freediving :). Your not alone there haha

Yeah if I remeber correctly she switched fins later on in the movie. I am not sure if hers broke or not .

Wow Morg, swimming around the bottom of the 6 foot for 3 hours. Your breathholds have really shot up!rofl

Haha yes I know... What do you expect I spend 1 full day training my O2/CO2 table a week. Its a small price to pay for a 3 hour breath hold. roflrofl

It's the fins, man. One day I dove down around noon and surfaced well after midnight - what's more I was looking down on the city! These amazing fins give me the power to swim in air when there is a full moon. Women are mysteriously attracted to me and I was able to throw away my glasses! I no longer need a refrigerator if I just keep perishables next to my ice fins.

Wow so thats what happened.... I was thinking 'wow I must be looking very good today'. roflrofl

I bought a pair of H. Dessault fins, but wanted Ice fins, so I purchased the fins from Subprof for 100.00 US. and even thoughthey are much softer than the Dessaults, and I had to alter the Dessault foot pockets slightly to fit the Ice fins (removing the rubber blade catches in the grooves of the blade guides with a razor [be careful, I cut myself accidently, and I usually am extreemly careful with knives]), I am happier with the Ice fins. I live in the eastern pan handle of West Virginia, practising dynamic in the cold current of the potomac river! but I am moving to Saipan for 2 years after I graduate from school. you know what I am going to be doing as much as I can!

I figure that on an island that is 12 miles by 5 miles, you cAN know everyone in 1/2 a year but you can never know all of the fish in the ocean over the course of a life time!! that makes it all sooo exciting!!!

I just received my new Ice fins today. Can't wait to try them in the pool! They look great and fit perfectly with socks.

Nice I hope you enjoy them naiad :). I really like mine :inlove.

3 or 4 more weeks before they see some real action :) (Open Water).

What depth are they really rated towards? I understand that they are very soft and people say they are a shallow water fin but to what estimated depth?

Mine are very scratched up now :) I love these fins - comfortable, maneuverable, good power etc. etc. Ultra stylish also.

I love mine buy they do not beat my CT85 custom carbons....

Naiad what doyou think about the vanilla smell then?

I just got some standard Millenniums from subprof and they smell of vanilla too, glad it wasn't just mine!

Oh no! I knew it would come at some point. I've got fin envy.

Do the ice blades fit the sporasub H. Dessault pockets?

The whole house smells of vanilla!

Or at least something similar. Nice!

Now I have to get some socks, as the footpockets are big, even for my big feet. I will need socks anyway for open water diving, so maybe it's better that they are big.

Tomorrow I will try them in the pool. I hope they are as good as they look.
